got rear ended!!!!!
i got rearended last year in my evo, i was stopped waiting to turn and a truck hit me doin 35 never even hit the brakes. it looked just like urs but the quater panels buckeled. it might not look bad but make sure that underneath the crush bars arent compressed. either way its an evo and it wont be cheap. get an estimate and get cash. i think mine was around 5 grand.
Correct me if im wrong, but dont you have to take out the crashe beam on the bumper to put a JDM 9 bumper? So the next time someon taps him in the rear it totals his car? It's a bad a** lookin bumper I agree but I wouldnt compramise the integrity of my car to look cool. just my 2c.
ya i met up this afternoon with the punk and the punks father today and he said he has a body shop guy hes been goin to for years some bullish like that so we just agreed to that...
i got rear ended and ended up gettin a jdm bumper and did the work at the body shop i used to work at... i made money , and i was completly honest... make sure you get lots of quotes and then go through his insurance get high quotes also at least 4
NO NO NO NO NO!!!! Go to a body shop of your choosing. Have the body shop work for you and on your side, looking out for your interests and concerns.
EXACTLY! You're setting yourself up for a very bad situation. It doesn't matter if you've already "agreed" to this; don't forget that the ball is in your court and you deserve to have everything done right. Find a high quote and call his insurance.
Get it checked out. Depending on the speed of the hit, the crash bar probably took most of the impact. Whenever the exhaust is hit, make sure to check for damage under the hood! If I were you I would get a new U.S. bumper, crash bar, plate, exhaust, and be sure the manifold, turbo, and o2 housing are okay. If they do look okay I would replace all the gaskets and bolts between them (not necessary but I would do it). Keep the crash bar. This same accident would have caused more damage and your insurance may not cover a future accident if you remove it. If this is your only car I would have them pay for a rental until you have your car fixed. I would have personally have gotten the insurance involved. I would also have the work done at the best body shop around. It is 100% his fault. Did you file an accident/police report? Anyways, good luck with getting it fixed.
ya my car is still drivable and all but i looked underneath and checked out the exhaust it seems that when he hit the rear the impact pushed my exhaust to the right
call insurance... its not going to affect you... this guy doesn't know how expensive evo's are too fix... he probably things its a pos lancer with wheels and a big wing.
the rear bumper is probably 800$ painted and who knows what else is broke..
