I bought My Car through South coast, And the Deal went through pretty smooth. I Wasn't promised any gas cards or a full tank of gas or anything like that. The Only problem i had was that a little plastic cover was missing on the Bumper, its about the size of a Quarter and only cost about $2. I just bought one from my local dealer and slapped it on. I had it shipped with my own shipping company so thats why I didn't complain, my shipper could have lost it. When I did get the car the Gas tank was empty, but You can't possibly expect the to fill all the Cars on the lot. That would cost alot of money, ALOT. But As far as my Deal with Mark M went, every thing was cool and smooth.

+1. Mike was a great guy to work with. Very straightforward and no BS'ing around. I had some accessories installed on my GG IX SE and it was immaculate when I picked it up. Had a full tank of gas, 4 miles on the odo, and was simply cherry clean.

No complaints from me w/ Southcoast.

i got my MR through Mark. no hassle with paperwork. after driving off the lot, i realized i didn't have gas, so i got gas. he called me on my cell and told me he forgot to give me a gas card. he said after filling out the survey, he'll send me a card. but, never got the card. oh well, at least the drive back to the bay area was fun. i should bug him for a gas card, but neh. don't wanna waste my time.

fyi, i just read that mark is at anaheim mitsu now? or the other mitsu dealer affiliated with south coast.

I think it's a common car sales tactic to "throw in" a free tank of gas. When I bought my wife's FX35 last month we were negotiating price for a long time. I finally said enough. It's gettin late and this car is a "nice to have" not a "need to have". This is the price or I walk. He came back and was still too high but offered 2 free tanks of gas like I would knuckle under when he tried to shake my hand. I put my hand in my pocket and asked him if he thought I was idiot. He smiled and came back with the price I wanted but no free gas.

Every single new car that I have ever bought came with a full tank of gas. And I agree - a promise is a promise, no matter how good a deal you get on the car.

The guy is right, if someone makes a promise (even if it's a bottle of Coke) he still has to keep it... I don't like people that don't keep promises too.

Even if he's got a good deal on the car. That Mike got commissions.

dawg...the gas card is for like $10. The car has enough gas to get to the gas station.

You ARE nit picking....you just purchased a 30k car and you're b!tching about $20 worth of crap. You got a good price...enjoy your car.

you have to get things in writing from a salesman.

They have these little forms called IOU's. Amazing concept.

I have never heard of anyone being so cheap as to bash a dealership that saved you 3K for a $20 gas card. But I guess that makes everything work in this world ( we are all different ). I really hope that you're going to get that gas card!

wow that is some nit-picking! I would have settled it with a phone call not a useless thread. saving $2500-$3000 vs $20, there is a difference. make sure you check that they don't touch your nickels and dimes and pennies in the ashtray when you leave the premises after your next service visit

Nit picking? Surely those that think that's nit picking wouldn't mind paying for the OP's tank of gas or other items promised. C'mon it's only a small amount as some of you have said, so you probably wont mind paying for a tank of gas for me as well.

Pretty shady way to ensure that the questionnaire mailed to all new buyers is filled out in your favor. I was offered a free oil change in return for bringing the questionnaire in to 'discuss' it.

A person is nothing without their word, obviously this guys proven his isn't worth anything. Can't really say I'm surprised, it's not like car salespeople are known for being stand up individuals.

I didn't get a full tank gas with my car. ='(

To everyone calling the OP a nitpicker, since it's so insignificant, send me $15 via paypal, thanks.

i also purchased my evo at south coast, and they said they were going to give me full tank when we were talking about deals etc. then when we finally finished with the deal, we went for a test drive and went to the nearest chevron gas station. he filled up my tank but only up to the 3rd notch (75% full)..so i was a little upset but i didnt say anything. then when we got back to the dealership, i asked again(if i was going to recieve a full tank)..the dealer then says that he put a full tank..... i then directed him to show him that i only recieved 75%..and then he says "oh okay, on your next oil change tell the service people and they will give you a gas card"..i havnt had the time to get my oil changed yet so i don't know if i am going to get my full tank or not..but i will see..
