Issues with Gilman Mitsubishi

I went to Gilman Mitsubishi because my headlight switch isnt functioning anymore, i can turn the switch to turn on or off, but the headlights stay on when ever i start the car, but they dont turn off (Automaticlly turn off when keys are out the ignition and i open the door.)

When i brought my car in, the first thing he noticed was the Radio and the 3 gauge pod were switched in places..(i just did it because i prefered that set up) and after an hour, he claimed that the rewiring that i did caused the switch to do that because the whole electrical system is "internally" connected and the smallest movement in the wires could "triger" a switch to go faulty, and the warrenty wasnt going to fix anything. Im going back tomrow to talk to someone who knows what there talking about and get it fixed.

Talk to the owner or highest level of personal at the dealer and tell him.

Just an idea.

I bought my RS from Gilman in San Marcos. My issue with them isn't service related, but I thought I'd share anyways. It was the moment before the signing stage that Mark Sebby disclosed this list of extra services and products that was done/added to the car - none at my request, just things performed by the dealer "out of the best interest of the buyer?" I don't know. I still have this list to this day and it reads:

MANUFACTURER'S STANDARD EQUIPMENT: INCLUDED

EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES ADDED BY THE DEALER:

MSRP: $29,744.00

SUPER POLYSHEILD: $1,995.00
PACKAGE (INCLUDES)
PAINT SEALANT
FABRIC GUARD

EXTERIOR DECOR:
HAND PAINTED PIN STRIPE: (NONE)

SECURITY ETCH: $295.00

CHROME ALLOY WHEELS: (NONE)

TINT: $249.00 (WASN'T ADDED YET. GOOD THING SINCE I DIDN'T WANT IT.)

APP PACKAGE:

WHEEL LOCKS: $99.00

ALLOY FUEL DOOR: (NONE)

TOTAL PRICE: $32,382.00

What got me was I came down from Oklahoma City, which is a 600-plus mile drive. Never did they disclose all this fluff to me over the phone or by e-mail. I thought the dealer was all good because Mark was actually a nice guy. I was wrong. Just beware of these guys. I'm sure the same management is in place and still working their shady deals.

$99 wheel locks? A $25 accessory listed on the Mitsu website. I guess they wanted $74 for labor.

$1,995 for paint sealant and fabric guard? Wow, just wow. I specifically told Mark how particular I am about the paint. I don't know how many times I told him not to wash the car anymore. I didn't want them to touch the paint anymore. Had I known they used paint sealant and fabric guard, I probably would've gone to another dealer. Well, turned out, the paint sealant job sucked and the fabric guard ... well, does leather and alcantara really benefit from fabric guard? Hell, no.

Stupid thing was I felt I was too deep in the process and wanted the car so badly. I ended up buying the car and am still happy to this day. I'm a smarter buyer now, though.

Beware of these guys. I'm sure the dishonesty isn't limited to the showroom floor.

As expected you'll have a hard time getting it warrentied because they'll continue to blame it on what you did. Should have definately put that back the way it was first. I would do that then take it to another dealer

I got mine from gilman houston south and the car with the lowest mileage was the one from san antonio(shertz). They shipped to houston and after flying in noticed the secutrity etched but they did not charge me anything, just what price we agreed before. so far excellent sales people since they picked me up from the airport. my gas as also full with only 14 miles.

if this light issue happened after exchanging the radio and gauges, then it is obviously your fault. I wouldnot warranty it either.

No, the salesman filled up my gas tank for me - not by choice - he insisted after I said, "I can do it." He didn't listen and ended up overfilling. Gas just poured out and flowed all over my new paint. Man, it pissed me off.
