yeah driving on low tank is not good for the fuel pump. try to drive up to a 1/4 tank.

Around a 1/4 tank (or lower) I've seen fuel starvation on street driven Evos.

Why would they design a fuel tank that can't be driven until it's empty? Driving around with all that gas is just adding weight to your car. People pay $1700 for some titanium exhaust because it is 10 pounds lighter, then drive around with 75 pounds of extra fuel in thier car. If it is bad for your car then the design is bad, the tank and the fuel pump. You should be able to drive it down to 1/8th of a tank without any problems, even dirt. Unless you are going on a long trip filling up more than half a tank or so is just retarded.

Gas is heavy, and I need to make up the difference to offset the weight of my enormous gut.

Run it below the empty line everytime for the past 2 years

No problems.

Never keep more than 7 gallons in the car except on long drives.

i usually fill up about once every week or so, and then when it gets down to a little less than 1/4 tank fill it up again.

i try my best never to have my fuel light come on.

i can't say for certain wether it is good or bad for the car either way, it is just personal preference.

i've come to this conclusion about you...

one or more of the following...

1. you must really like the smell of gas to be there every other day
2. work at a gas station
3. own a gas station
4. like a guy or girl that works there
5. ready to flee at any minute so need a full tank of gas
6. worried your gauge may be off one day
7. ocd
8. rarely drive it
9. crazy
10. super crazy

which one or more is it? lol

cheers!

I always have my low gas light on except for long drives. Pump is a little louder but I have never had a problem.

A lot of in tank pumps need a gallon or more of fuel present in order to adaquetely cool the pump. If you run dry the pump burns itself out.
