Low tank driving ??
I get crap mileage (lead foot) between 200 and 250 mpt and that on top of living so far away from everything causes me to fill up once a day. i'm always into the low fuel light when i get home, and fill up with shell premium ($2.90 a gallon... eek!). never had a problem. I just always make sure to give the fuel pump plenty of time to prime before i start the car.
EVERY car in my family has been driven until the low fuel light comes on or just a little before. and none of the cars ever has had a fuel pump died out. I think it's just a bit overly cautious to do this.
And I think it's better to let a little dirt in once in a while then all of a sudden running on empty and getting the filter clogged in no time.
I do routine maintenance anyways and the fuel filter is on the list, they have one for a reason.
And if my fuel pump goes out, it's time for an upgrade.

one or more of the following...
1. you must really like the smell of gas to be there every other day
2. work at a gas station
3. own a gas station
4. like a guy or girl that works there
5. ready to flee at any minute so need a full tank of gas
6. worried your gauge may be off one day
7. ocd
8. rarely drive it
9. crazy
10. super crazy
which one or more is it? lol
