I would say the best times would be from end of may to july. Thats enough time to people get there passport get funds and rap up with school. And thats when most of the track events are going on durring the summer.

And its still cheaper to fly out of LAX. Not the East coast if you are going to spend over 2 grand on this trip you can spend a extra few extra dollars to fly in to lax and get a room for 1 or 2 nights .

So As of right now, this is going to probably be the plan

Everyone flys in 1-2 days early to LAX, we all stay at a hotel, meet each other, go out to dinner, introduce ourselves and tell about our cars n what were looking to get out of the trip..

then we fly to japan, rent say 2 hotels while where there.. one in tokyo, one somewhere else that theres lots of activity and sights. while were there we rent a couple vans with GPS, and have designated drivers that will drive while were there (say 3 vans, and like 6 drives) [btw i call all time shotgun] and we have some locals show us where the events are, go to some underground car shows, maybe visit a mitsubishi dealership n see what they offer there (as far as stock parts n stuff, prices ect.) take a day out for sight seeing n picture taking.. have n awsome time!

fly back, n make a huge evom back from japan picture thread!

BTW if any mods are interested in coming it would be cool to have a mod with us also!

For a passport it $97 bucks you must apply in person.

You must have

2 pics i dont recall the size

State id or DL

Birth Cert.

Your SS number they dont need to see it but just in case bring it.

Here is the link for all the info you need about it.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

Please have in mind the turn around time is 4-6 weeks.

If you want to place a rush on it for a turn around 2-4 weeks add $60 to the $97 so the total would be $157

There are places in the us that have a 24 hour turn around time but they charge the $157 Plus there fee of $160 i think maybe a lil less.

Japan ain't cheap guys, especially in Tokyo, so be prepared

Mad JDM parts ain't exactly that cheap EITHER, so don't have too high of expectation on that.

You want to check out the car scene (evo scene) in japan? Well, it's not THAT easy and you better contact the local ppl that knows about it. Don't expect to go there and see bunch of hot imports on the street, especially Tokyo. After all they only remain about 10% of the cars you see on the street.

What I am saying is that, Japan is a very cool places to go visit but if the intention of going there is because of cars, there will be some disappointment unless you know local car guys. Most of the hardcore streets imports are outside of Tokyo

Have fun~ bring lots of $$

Round trip plane ticket is about around $800-1000 depending on the season.

I well aware of this.

Im going to start working on getting all info and details on a few local shops maybe i can get them to have a big meet when where down there.

I will be talking to my travel agent. Next week ill call and try to get a ball park amount. So far its looking like 2100 (without the van's and one hotel only which where go to stay at 2)thats for one person i bet you i can get it way lower then that depending on the amount of people we get to go.

Well this summer I'm going to Japan to visit my GF. She lives Totori and do you guys know which major tuner shop is in Totori? Garage Trial baby. That's going to be the first place I'm going to visit.

By the way if you guy want to travel to Japan, try using the travel agency name IACE they always have good deals going to Japan.
