RedCloud has like 150,000 miles on his 03 VIII. There are so many variables to consider like modifications, driving style, maintenance, etc. I would be pretty comfortable saying that if you keep you Evo mostly stock, maintain it scrupulously and drive it responsibly that you could get 200,000 miles + out of the engine and drivetrain.

the 4g63 has been around for awhile so its known to be good, you can pretty much keep any car going forever just depends if you want to keep replacing things. But i would say that an 03 with 47k miles on it is fine, i would say that 23k is a bit high i dont know about your area but i can find an 03 with around 50k for 20 thousand relatively easily. All depends on how well it was maintained to me.

If you dont beat it like a redheaded step child you can make any car last to 500k easily. My moms old car just died with like 470k. My little brother was driving it actually, it was some busted DA9 integra. Like I said, I dont think that car ever got past 3k RPM's until I drove it.

20K is reasonable. I bought mine a year ago, 1 owner, 23K miles on it w/SSL for $24,000

Any car can last very long if you take care of it.

Has "cuzn" really slipped into popular useage? If it has it makes me scared for the future of our world.

116,000 on my DSM.

Driven hard and put away wet, never had a problem with it. Only things I've replaced from wear are:

Turbo (t-25 blew up at 20psi, replaced with evoIII 16g)
Clutch (100,000 miles on stock clutch)
Waterpump (only unexpected failure)

4g63 FTMFW!
