gap insurance question.....

gap insurance question.....

Ok so insurance totaled my girlfriends car..her loan was 43000. Insurance is giving her 32200 for it will the gap insurance pay the rest or is the gap too big?

I think the gap is too big. Only the providor can give the the "real" answer though.

it was a 06 lexus is 350

I think when I bought my gap insurance the sales mgr. said up to $5000.00.

i got the gap protection with my new evo. as it was explained to me there was no limit on the gap coverage.

but i would assume, as with most things like that, that it would vary from provider to provider. so have her give them a call.

sorry to hear about her car. i hope she is ok.

yeah gap will cover the remainder balance that the insurance left behind.

when I bought my evo the loan officer on the dealer asked me if i would like another insurance aside from the gap that will get me another car(evo) with the same amount in place of my totalled evo.

i'm not sure about your insurace company but according to mine their gap coverage will pay for a max of 25% of the original vehicle price. your insurace company shorted you 25.1% of the original price.
