In general its a bad idea to "t" anything off the line that goes to your FPR. You have to look at it this way. The FPR works off boost, the more boost the more Fuel pressure, if for any reason that line leaks your will not be getting the right amount of pressure to the regulator and thustly the wrong vollume of fuel to your motor. Just because it has worked so well for a few years doesnt mean its a good idea.

Yes this make sense. I wonder how many of us did what this kid did? Did you by chance follow the how-to on www.evomoto.com? I did and it shows you how to T into the FPR hose. I did this and plan to change it when I bing the car out of storage in March. So where is the best place to T into? The BOV line? Will it see accurate boost AND vacuum? I assume so since it's hooked up to the intake manifold.

Where do you suggest Eric? What does AMS do?

PS: I have the part number for that hose at work. I can PM it tomorrow. It is the one with the blue stripe and metal wrap. We are talking about the same hose so let me know if you need the part number.

The reason why people say it's dangerous is because if one of those lines fall off while driving the car on boost it will will go lean however if any of those hoses did fall off then your boost guage would not read so you would know so to me it is a plus. Whats wierd is that hose didn't come tie rapped or clamped from factory, just make sure that the hoses are tie rapped and you will be ok.

what i wonder is....does it read accurately where im t'd into right now? where the fpr is....i hope so i've been running 21psi(i hope) for 4k miles and i hope it hasn't been retarding timing the whole time :[ we'll see when i switch it over. i just need the part number to put the stock hose back.

Correct. I mean think about it. If the FPR didnt see accurate boost then how could it accurately supply fuel for that said amount of boost?

I do think the one circled however is safer and I am going to change mine ASAP. That is where the stock Mitsu boost guage hooks up? I wish my car wasnt in storage so I could go under the hood now and take a look.

yes that is where they T in the factory boost gauges. As AMS said, and as I have said before, tapping it to the FPR line is a bad idea. Sure it works, but for one the line is very small ID, and second if the line ever does come off your screwed....

Just use the bov line and you will be fine

Yeah but I am wondering if I really want to run a hose all the way to where my Defi sensor is mounted on the firewall. Again, I dont remember if there is a soft hose between the intake mani and the hard line that comes from the BOV. If not, then it's hard to T into metal. If so, then I can just do that. Man I wish I had my car! Looks like I have a lot of hoses to reroute huh Kev?

I have an auto meter C2 boost gauge #7160 and its an electric gauge. I also have a greddy profec b ll. The greddy displays boost when under exceleration, however the greddy and the C2 read different boost levels. Which one shold i beleive? I want to say the boost gauge but im unsure.

yes there is a soft line coming from the BOV which connects to the Manifold via a soft line. I actually deleted the metal line a long time ago.....

Autometers are notorious for being innaccurate with boost...trust me, I have had 3 that were all of my more than 3 psi...

honestly for boost i would trust neither PorkRoll. The autometer C2 line I have had problems with. The new mechanical guages are pretty accurate, When in doubt Defi is usually pretty dead on.

Tapping off the BOV line is a decent idea. Maybe its time AMS make a vacuum block for you guys so you can have all kind of ports
