boost gauge installed wrong?

I'll be able to post pics later but basicly a few months ago when I had my boost gauge installed....its mechanical but they t's into the wrong hose....they t'd into the black hose that runs from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold...or left back side of engine to intake mani....I'm going to fix it but its been a pain in the *** trying to find a part # for that hose...a few people told me if that hose leaks my engine will blow...so I'm paranoid now....its suppose to be t'd into the hose to the right of it....like factory....anywho...your opinions on if my boost reading would be innaccurate due to where its t'd into? And also would it be smart to just replace it with a vac hose or get the factory one? Thanks

That sounds like the right hose. Can you take a pic of it. The one mitsu even taps into can blow off and make you run lean. That's why it's HIGHLY suggested you put on zip ties.

Ok well i tapped mine into the hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake. I have had it on mine for over 1 year now and according to AMS and Al from dyno flash it is reading perfect.

But that brings up a god question since you mentioned it "how does the factory hook up the boost gauge?"

Based on that picture he provided above in the link the hose that is circled.....my hose is t'd into to left of the one circled....if that makes sense....you can see it running from a metal thingy going to the intake manifold....so yeah.....anyone else running this?

The boost gauge from the factory (MR edition) is T-ed off from the exact hose in this install.

I did mine to the bigger hose to the left of it since it's a bit easier to get to and there wont be as much strain on it to bend. And it's easier to throw zip ties on the larger one.

What does it matter where you get the boost source from?

You can either get it from the line everyone is talking about, and have to worry about going lean and blowing you motor..
Or the BOV line and have no worries except a boost leak...

correct me if I am wrong

I'm curious as well since I used the BOV line as well for the same reason.
