It's really easy actually, I believe it's 2 nuts and 2 bolts, and just a bit of sticky tape underneath. I just covered my holes with white electrical tape. later down the road if I do decide to keep it that way I will get the holes filled.

open trunk...see the bolt/nuts? take those out...after that, there is some tape holding it down. I would suggest having a friend to help you out, may make things easier to pull up on both sides than one side at a time by yourself.

When I did it to my friends, we used fishing line and pulled zigzag from the wing towards us. To make things even easier...take a heatgun or blowdryer to make teh tape soft...then teh fishing line/dental floss should just slice it...then take off remaining tape and use some WD40 to polish the rest off and maybe go over it with some wax...and tada.

Just gotta find a plug or something to fill the holes

Hope that helped

My plan for removing my '06 MR rear wing is to replace it with a regular trunk lid. I'm surprised how cheap body parts are for the Evo

Go to the hardware store and look in the furniture section, the bolts/misc section, and the cabnet section. I found a bunch of things that plugged holes great. What I ended up with was some plastic plugs used to filling holes drilled into office furniture. Painted them the colour of the car and it was fine.

Depends how picky you are. The above post is definately the best bet. Getting them welded and painted was really expensive around here, I was shocked.

I guess the wing is the manhood of the Evo.

And all this time I thought useless add-ons that make something look better were a more feminine thing.

How much is a regular trunk painted? Called one place with special prices, but they wouldn't ship the trunk. My local dealer wants $1100 painted white?!?!?!
