yeah come on guys, i hope yall didnt by the car for its luxury, and if u dont like the interior then MODIFY it. no car comes perfect from the factory

but i would change the stock clutch, its too weak for the EVO

3. Weak clutch
4. Cheap interior
5. Squeaking and rattling inside
6. Wing clear coat
7. Calipers
8. warranty
9. No automatic window roll down or up on all 4 windows
10. No cruise control

 

OK, first of all Im happy with my car.
I just think that FOR THE MONEY Mitsubishi overlooked several things. Doesn't mean I don't like the car.
EVERY car has flaws, none are perfect. This is a thread discussing what you would change on the car if you had a choice.
None of the stuff I listed prevented me from buying the car. So chill out please. All you morons with the immature posts should just grow up.

Already changed out one set Brembos now the other set it fading to hell. Spoiler changed out once but I'm sure I'll have to do it again..

 

6. Boost Gauge. (MR only). It would've been nice if it read PSI instead of Bar. Would just be alot easier for some of use.

05+ RS gets kit too, Agree with PSI thing. I still think the stock boost gauge is a little off.


9. Brembo Brakes. The brakes are wonderful and you could'nt ask for anything better, but it's really annoying when you get a rock in your Caliper and it starts making that really loud squeeking noise. There must've been a way to avoid this? Maybe a stone-guard type thing?

I aggree they should do better job with paint and some 03 evo's have brembo paint problem, I think you, need to buy like a bmw or something , seriously.... This car is not made nor never was made for luxury purposes

Did I ever list that it didn't have full-leather interior? Did I ever complain about it not having an air-ride suspension? NO. I know I didn't buy a luxury car.

My only dislike is I wish I could have bought it new, I think it would be in better condition if I was the 1st owner, not the 2nd. Yeah and its really expensive, parts, payments, parts, but thats why I work hard.

 

i would say the clutch but its not mitsus fault we mod the crap out of our cars and launch them like crazy. In fact mine lasted longer than I thought.

Only thing I wish it had was cruise but it's no biggie

 

That's funny. I got in my lowered Honda yesterday and drove it to work. This car is my track car and is un-godly stiff on the road--my race bucket is literally welded to the floor so i can fit inside w/ a helmet!

Got back in the Evo today and I felt like I was driving a Lexus. The harshness of ride is always subjective to the individual. I think the Evo is quite compliant actually.

What would I change on my Evo?

Clock? Agreed. If the sun's out, it's next to impossible to see the clock.

I haven't had any paint/leather fade problems. I *would* upgrade the cupholders, they don't hang onto Starbucks cups at all! You wipe down your leather Recaro's with special leather cleaning wipes for the 5th time in a week and tell me you wouldn't change them a little. lol I'm thinking the rubber inserts that would snug onto the cup. Hmm. I might do that myself and post some pics. For another thread and another time.

I do get a slight, but persistent rattle from somewhere behind the dash on the far left side, now while everyone wants to jump on the "it's a race car, you shouldn't whine about noise" bandwagon, I prefer to think, I don't want my 30k race car falling apart before it even has 10k miles on it... It's so hardcore and built tough to race... why is it rattling?

Overall, I'm damn happy with my Evo, I got her brand new, and love it every single day I drive.

Is she perfect? No, but what is anymore? Is she my dream car? Absolutely.

Oh, and I'd add cruise control, just for those road trips.

2) Attention from the wrong crowd... ie. 16 year olds.
3) The alteza lights.
4) Boring interior
5) Cop attention
6) Feeling the need to mod... all the time.

That's it. I love the car otherwise and these are small issues.

 

This isn't a wasted thread. You can love your car and still gripe about it. I don't understand the mentality of people who viciously disparage other Evo owners because they comment on the lousy fuel economy, lack of cruise control, cheap-assed interior, etc. So f'ing what?
