Hell, I rarely drive it hard, since as jotan82 has said, it sucks up a lot of gas. I rarely drive it past 3500rpm unless I want to have fun with it. I only drive it 2 days a week since I work so much.

 

When do you want to have fun with it if it's not on the 2 days you drive it every week?!?!

What are you talking about, a gass guzzler. My vette and Z28 were guzzlers, this thing is an economy car compared to them. I get 20 to 21 miles per gallon with a lot of spirited driving. In my vette that kind of driving would get me 9 to 10 MPG.

Anywho, I drive my car in a very spirited manner most of the time. NOT hard, but spirited. The car gets used to the way you drive. So if you never accelerate hard, I don't think it ever hits its potential. Anyways. I would like to drive slower, but I am usually having to much fun.(MSN's #1 ranked car for fun in 03)

 

I'm sure nobody drives their car hard or even take it above 2000 RPM...

I haven't driven mine too hard, specially since i just hit 850m.
But when i see Wrx, i get too tempted to fly by them.
Sadly now the rim is bent out of shape . i'm not letting anyone drive it anymore. even if its my father who wanted to drive it. (He hit a huge pot hole)

Peak boost of 19 psi is at 3.5 k rpm. And after 5k it's falling off big time. You actually feel this too when accelerating , 3 to 5 k torque / acceleration is at it's max, after 5k no where near as strong.

 

i drive it very hard laterally . Always testing the new limits of the evo... It's exciting how the Evo understeers when it enters a turn at high speed, and when you punch the throttle, the car's LSD transfers the power to the outer wheels and the car goes into an oversteer. The tremendous anti-physics causes the car to jump while the outer tires pull you into the oversteer. One caution tho, i oversteered so much once, that my car entered into a drift and while sliding i was looking at the roadside kerb. Lucky thing i recovered quickly.

i floor my ride every single day at least once every single time i turn the key and start driving.. actually i floor it at least 3x in one driving span... actually i floor my **** every chance i get when i dont feel like a cop is going to pull me over.... u have taken your car to 125 once? ewww.... u guys are girls driving evos!!!.. i have taken mine up to 141.... i go 125 daily.... i have redlined my car ( about 7100/7200) =X.... it hurt me in my heart but o well it was an accident.... i have boosted WOT on plenty of twisties... plenty of 45 degree turns....60 degree turns..70 degree turns.... y buy an evo if your not going to drive it the way it begs to be drived.... for those of you that baby the car.... go dyno your car..... u wonder why your awhp/torque is so low.... its bcuz you drove it like a grandma from the start and it wasnt broken in to be its fullest potential.....

I keep my speed well below 125 not because I don't how to drive an Evo, not because I don't want to run at WOT, but because I don't want to go to jail. You live in Virginia, you should know that if you get convicted for 125, you will very likely see the inside of a jail cell. And probably have a suspension or a restriction on your driver's license, and that's after you spend $500 - $1000 for an attorney. And perhaps worst of all, since you'll likely be arrested on the spot for reckless driving and whatever other charges the cop can dream up, some clueless tow truck driver is going to sling your Evo up by its front wheels because he doesn't know its AWD, he thinks all Lancers are FWD, and he'll ruin your center diff when he tows it away.

And hey, 7100 - 7200 rpm is nothing... you gotta keep it going to the rev limiter.
