Painting A-Pillar

Ok, so I have just got done searching but still have found no answer to my two questions.

1. What color code have you all used to match your aftermarked a-pillars to the rest of your pillars (I have an 03 evo GSR)

2. I know its a dumb question... but how do you get the a-pillar off? Looks like its just held in with snaps but I don't want to start pulling untill I have some feedback.

Thanks in advance guys!

Thanks I-Dom-In-8!
Thats a great write up, It is exactly what I needed for removal of the a-piller but I would like to retain the stock color. Any suggestions?

When I painted mine I went and grabbed the only gray duplicolor interior paint they had and it is slightly darker, however is not noticeable. Let me know if you want the exact color and pics and Ill dig them up.

if you could that would be great. I already have my gauge pod and its black... I know almost nothing will be perfect but I don't want people to get in and notice right away.

I used VHT plastic paint, light satin grey (SP-971). It matches very close but not perfect. I just painted the single a-pillar pod... but it would look perfect if you painted the entire pillar.

Couple pics:

I used a krylon gray, it matched pretty close, and I sprayed both pillars to make sure they were a match. Did it about 2 years ago and they still looks great!!!
