Cluster Mileage Advance
Can you advance the mileage in the clusters? Power it up and supply power to the motor in the odometer? Or can a dealer do it?
if you replace the computer, you have to download it. the bcm will ask for mileage. once it is burned in there thats it. i guess you can input pretty much any mileage you want. although thats wrong. i had to throw away a couple bcm's cause it got burned with the wrong mileage.

if you mean broken because of the seat... hey that's my dealer for you, I'm not going to tell them there isn't anything wrong with it when I got my SRS light turned off for free.

The mileage is retained in the cluster not in the main computer (at least the main computer mileage is not transferred to the cluster). If you want to do a swap, you have two options. You can buy a cluster that is close in mileage to you, maybe a little over so when you hit that mileage you can swao without worry or you can buy a new/used cluster, and have the dealer set the mileage.

Most dealerships will shy away from anything like this since it's a criminal act to tamper with the odometer. You can always go the other route and purchase a used one from a wrecked vehicle or race car. I see them on ebay all of the time.
The memory for the mileage is stored in the cluster only, and not the ecu.
