March 21 issue of autocar stated that there was a rumor that Mitsu is working on an Evo 8.5 possibly for the Tokyo Show this Fall. This will bring the specs up to 300/300.

sounds goofy calling it hte 8.5 though, Ill wait till I can buy an Evolution X, just cause I think if I saw something like Evolution X on my trunklid it would look cool!

 

The TME is the 6.5.

Nothing goofy about it in my eyes.

 

So long as the changes to make it 300/300 work on ours, no problem.

Yeah, well, Makinen doesn't drive for Mitsubishi anymore, so I don't think they will name the car after him....... And yes, that would be cool to be 300/300. Then it can compete with STi. Of course, it will be better. But then again, you guys can just get like Stage 1 or Stage 2 from aftermarket companies and bring it up to 320/305 or something like that.
