Regreting the SSL package
Yeah I know, it's an old thread....
Is the IX GSR SSL SE model exist ??
The SSL package was an option you could choose when you bought the car ? If so, SSL exist for all IX colors ?

i drove a non SSL and then an SSL right afterward. I didn't notice a weight difference but the loss of grip on the seats was painfully obvious. Even if you redid the centers in alcantara you still don't have the bolster grip strips the regular IX seats have.
i have the SSL package and I also autocross and will do some occasional HPDE but still i DD my car everyday so the leather and the sunroof makes the car feel a lot more comfortable. Yes it is a performance car but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have some nice amities
I think people go overboard with thinking they need maximum performance out of their vehicles. Probably 95% of the time evo's are driven on the street where things like a/c, stereo, hids are pretty nice to have. If the car is a dedicated race car, that's one thing, but if your driving it mostly on the street, i'll take the a/c over the 50lbs or so weight reduction anyday. Sames goes with the leather seats and hids. The dumbest thing I ever saw was a guy selling an otherwise stock BMW 3 series, full leather and interior with "A/C Delete" as a selling point.
The Altima is much more quiet in every way imaginable. It doesn't introduce cancellations/reinforcement into the environment, at least not on this level of magnitude, that randomly alters the sound of any system. It's not the stereo. It's the car. Add an aftermarket exhaust, etc and you might as well forget about halfway decent sound on the move.

she wanted it loud so it had a custom exhaust made (stock cat, small resonator, no muffler, 3" tip) and a CAI. Get what you're saying though...solid mounts on everything in the evo doesn't help either
