If my parents wanted to buy an evo for me when I was a kid I don't think I would have said, " No, I want to buy it with my own money."

I am glad for those kids. They are lucky, not evil.

I would say that those kids are seriously spoiled. However, I'm 17 and will probably get an EVO before Feb.; it is dependent on when I get a full ride to Duke or Princeton . Those scholarships are potentially valued at 200K, therefore, validating a high schooler getting a 31K car. Also, I have probably worked my *** off enough to deserve one.

Congrats on your car. 270whp, that's impressive . What mods do you have?

Just out of curiosity, what turned you on to the Evo?

cant believe some of the responses which are sexist and rude even (post on girl buying evo because of altezzas).. if a girl can drive a 5-speed, she must be an enthusiast to a certain extent. My sister happens to drive a 5-speed WRX and she intends to go to rally school (something that I dont even consider doing).

As for comments on spoilt teenagers, you guys have issues man.. I'm 29 and I drive and evo, and I dont get jealous or bitter over someone younger having the same car as i do. If they come from multi-millionaire families, what do u expect them to drive?? a 1982 Honda Accord?? saying "kids these days are SPOILT" just says a lot about you or your financial status (which doesnt sound very healthy). Just face it, some people have money and some don't.

I'll second that... it's a shame this happens so often here when it seems that female posters are in rare supply. I wonder why...

And this too... Like the one 19yo who just said he bought his own, there are probably others. Realistically, most high schoolers can't buy an Evo, but don't assume that because they have one, they are spoiled. And if they are, it's not their fault and few in their position would turn something like an Evo down. Further, I've known people in wealthy families who work very hard for what they get and I've seen poorer families with spoiled children trying to compete. Just seeing an 18yo in an Evo is not enough to make such judgements about a family, so just assume the better option and everyone's happy. ;-)

You are correct. MBC, 3" turbo back, Super AFC, and intake. I had a talon before this which ran 8.5's and my husband and I have always wanted an Evo, even before we knew they were coming over here.
