Evo IX 4th Gear Trap Speeds
I know the top speed in 4th gear, but top speed does not equal trap speed. So can anyone who has tracked their IX please comment on what speed and rpm you trapped in the 1/4. Any one shift to fifth?
Also please comment on what size tires you had as that effects trap speed)
I am going to the track soon and I think my trap will be around 115-117 and I'm not sure if I can do that in 4th.
Thanks

i calculated my top speed per gear given my 7800rpm rev limit. In 4th gear i could trap 118mph. Still stock tires and transmission.
This is for an Evo IX, which has a shorter 4th gear than the VIII...

I trapped 105.46, and was close to 7K. In my opinion a trap speed between 115-117 is just on that point where if the stock rev limiter is in place, might implicate having to shift to 5th. But if you raise the limiter, I think that the range of speeds you are talking about might be more realistic for 4th gear.

This is odd, we have different traps here
That does not make sense. The only thing I can think of is that some people's cars must really fall on their face at high RPM's. In other words although you may have the same trap speed I suppose your actual final speed could be different
Lets get info from some more ppl please.
Code:
bigric09 - 116 @ 7600RPM talontid - 113 @ 8000RPM Silver06evo9mr - 108 @ 7000RPM
