Prob with read diff spacers?

Has anyone else here installed the Beatrush eurethane rear diff spacers? I did a few months ago, along with the bronze drive shaft hanger bushings, and I recently noticed that the rear diff spacers are not a tight fit? I mean they spin freely, and the bolts are way tight? Does anyone here have the same experiance? I migh have to go back to the stock ones if I can't figure this out quick.

Thanks,

Yeah... But it doesn't seem right at all. The pic of the evo with the spacer installed on the web site (kamisped) looks like a much thicker bushing? Maybe they are selling half a kit? I have no idea, but it can't be right. Now my diff has started a whining noise (more than likely from not being held in tight). I PMed Kami speed... let's see how they answer this. The products they sell are pretty nice. We will just have to see.

I was looking at getting these so I am also interested to see what is up. If there is a prob with them I def don't want to get them.

Also a little off topic but how do you like the driveshaft bushings, did you notice a difference?

I think I might be able to shed some light on this issue. I didnt go with the Kamispeeds but went with the diff carrier bushings from Energy Suspension.

In the package there are 4 washers, 2 of them are thicker than the other two.
As for the bushings itself there are also two that are thicker than the other two.
According to the install instructions, the pairs have to go in a certain section....

and I believe if you dont install the washers, bushings in the right spot then you might get some free play.

Thanks for the info but I don't think the Washers are different on the Kami Speed kit. I will have to check. I might get some large washers and shim the bushing until they are tight, but I shouldn't have to do that. Not to mebtion the fact that my diff is whining, and may be damaged a bit. I do like the bronze Driveshaft bushings, they improved the shifting a lot. Kamispeed hasn't responded to my PM yet. Hopefully they will today.

Good news and bad news. The good news is I am not crazy. Kami Speed just realized that the rear diff bushings were for ACD cars only. They do not fit and they are shipping me the correct bushings. They are being cool about the problem. Hopefully it will take care of the whining noise. So Blue Evo 8, make sure you contact Kami Speed before you install those bushings. I will post my results here.

Kami Speed has contacted me and from my understanding these are the INCORRECT bushings for the US spec Evos. They are for the JDM counter parts w/ ACD. They are sending me the correct ones as well as all others that have ordered them.

I am sriously hoping the extra play in the rear has not caused any premature wear. God only knows with my luck lately.

The rear diff carrier bushings I have are from Energy Suspension....

Never mind... the bronze driveshaft carrier bushings are fine. You will really like those. There is a good write up here on the install. If you have a friend to help as a second pair of hands, the install is really easy.

I believe i've had mine in that long as well. I don't have any whines that I am aware of, but i'll be sure to listen for it now. I'm not gonna drive her till the new bushings get in just to play it safe.

I just put in my rear diff spacers last week. Next day I noticed some whining in the cabin. I cannot tell if it is my TC or something else. But it sounds close to a supercharger in 3rd (not super loud, but that type of increasing noise). And in 5th it can be hear when crusing.

After WW3 Im heading back to OH (rents place) and taking her over to Shep Trans to have John give her a listen (and a new TC if needed). If it does not get worse after beating the tar out of her (aka the TC doesnt go further south (if it is the TC then I am expecting more noise and much louder)) then its the diff and bushings are translating more noise to the cabin.

BTW, sorry for the long post. But thats what I have been mulling over.
