get a tarp and tape it over the trunk area, just in case it rains or snows

 

Be careful with a tarp because any loose area will beat against the paint and scratch it bad when you are driving.

 

I guess you could do the cardboard and painters tape. I would recomend you check the weather for the amount of time you will have to be without the trunck. Last thing you want is to have to drive somewhere and it rains.

 

Im just worried about the alky pump getting damaged more...

Dude.... TOTALLY build a cardboard wing, too! It would be heeelarious. Use a pencil and make hashes all over it to turn it from cardBOARD to carBON! If I were you, I'd draw a half-assed , and write Lancer Evolution in the middle.

You're brave shipping your trunk. Hopefully the trunk actually makes it dent without a dent or a scratch because you'll be SOL when he tells you that it is. Your down time could potentially be much longer.

 

Well if it is packed very well and insured then you should have no worries . I wouldnt drive any car around without a trunk , good way for it to get stolen
