If you live near enough RRE, then get a custom flash from RRE. I don't know why you'd get a base flash from someone 3000 miles away when you have flash tuners to choose from in CA.

However, to answer your specific question, I would buy 12 Jestr M1 flashes before buying a Works flash, and then I still wouldn't get a Works flash. $600 is ridiculous. Custom tunes don't even cost that much.

I would not spend that amount of money ($600.00) on a mail-in/e-flash. For that kind of money.... get your car tune in a dyno. For that matter... jestr did a flash for me and I only had to adjust the fuel after 5000 RPMs under boost. I used a wideband to lean some tables to a nice ~11.5 AFR across the board under boost.

Just my 0.02!

Yes $600 is expensive...

I'll give the mail-in flash a try first and see the result.

Go to RRE and get a custom flash from Scott Gray for $300. Why are you being stubborn? Choice 1 is not even a valid choice. Choice 2 is fine but still makes no sense when you have expert tuners near you.

$600 is brain flash from Works. Mail-in flash is $52.

I wasn't being stubborn. Works is 15 min away so it felt convenient for me that's all. yikes, RRE is good 6 hrs drive from here...

It's worth it. Plus, there are other tuners around there, but don't pay $600 for anything from Works.

Thanks. Yeah, I really would like to save that $600 for something else.
I'll look for a good tuner around here that can tune my car for about $300. If not I'll just try out the mail-in jestr m1 flashes.

I set off p0300 with my clutch because it chatters pretty loudly, dont know if you have a twin plate, but that will do it.

If you are knocking because you are running lean, I would be very careful until it is fixed, or your engine could go bye bye.

if you feel it jerking, its the sparkplugs or your boosting isnt properly tuned, second problem you have could be even bigger because you have an internal problem in your engine. Putting both these together, sounds like one of your rods will break, and its going to get worse. Im a mechanic here in Ny and I specialize in evos, I even do cars from evoNY. I could check it out for you no charge and fix the problem cheap let me know.
