i know semis are a little scary to most of u. and i know they can be a pain in the *** to be around, but did anyone ever stop to think what their purpose is. ur precious evo and all your sweet parts as well as everything u take for granted would not be here if it weren't for those damed trucks. i know there are a few bad drivers that make all semis look bad but the majority are good professional drivers. do u think it is fair to hate all trucks that are doing u and this country a great service over a few stupid asses. think of all the times a car has cut u off or almost caused u to wreck, u don't hate all cars, hell u drive a car. i am sure u have cut someone off, mabee even a semi once or twice without even knowing it and almost caused him to wreck. i am sorry but all i am saying is think about what your hating before judging all semis.

Wow that sucks man.
At least you're ok.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine last week.
A tire just fell out from the semi traveling in front of him.
His front bumper is ****ed.
He said it happened so fast he had no time to respond.
He was traveling around 80mph and the semi was going at about the same rate
of speed.

That sucks!

I had the same thing happen when I had my GSX Eclipse. I was going around a turn on some BFE highway in Wyoming when I was on tour with my car and ran over a blown truck tire on the freeway. It completely thrashed my front bumper and put a nice hole in my FMIC and lower piping. Damn truckers need to clean up their mess when they have blowouts

What is it with semi drag races on the freeway? It's not bad enough when they're in one lane kicking up everything on the road, but they have to take up EVERY lane while they pass each other going 1mph quicker than the others. Its a rolling roadblock/sandblaster!

Only in America...

we need to tighten up big time on semi trucks. I drove the autostrada in Italy, and those people have a better system. All truck traffic is confined to the right lane and 55 mph or so. Car traffic just blows by at around 80. I never, not once, ever had a semi get in my way, pass each other up hills, or act in any unsafe manner, in a week of driving all over the country.
I asked someone there who said it's tightly regulated. If a "driver" is caught going too fast, etc., they just don't drive anymore. And speeds are monitored by equipment inside the vehicle. They recognize the dangers inherent in trucks and have taken sane action, unlike us. Wrecks involving trucks and cars are very rare.
We need to emulate them. Trucks running 70-80 mph on highways with cars is insane. And most truck drivers are mental defectives, hopped up on speed, trying to make a little extra by going too fast. Very few professionals have I encountered out there. Oh, and another thing, most of them hate "four-wheelers." They will sometimes do deliberately malicious things to try to damage cars, like the one passing another truck in an uphill "turtle race" that deliberately tracked into the breakdown lane a couple of feet so he could clip a tire tread lying there and try to throw it back at me. I could cite instance after instance of this, and almost zero of them being "professional."
Scumbags!@ Restrict them to the right lane and 55 mph.
That is all.

I classify semi trucks as a "necessary evil". They provide a valuable service by transporting everything you can possibly think of while at the same time being a complete pain in the a$$ while out on the highways and byways. I have been cut off numerous times and had retreaded tires kicked up onto my car by semis. At times they can be the bain of my existence and wish I had a rocket launcher to shoot them off of the streets, but then I remember just how necessary they are. So just remember the next time you are cursing a trucker in your car also remember that your car arrived at the dealership on a semi.

p/s I remember when my bros car GOT hit with a huge! rock, just smashed his front window. Almost hit him, cops did nothing about it.

Wrc go u are completly wrong and out of line. U have no idea what u are talking about. Especialy about the regulations and drug testing\background checks in this country. Mabee u should do a little research and look into ur own driving habits before shooting out age old stereotypes and spreading hate. There is a problem in this country with bad inconsiderate drivers as a whole. I am around them all day and can tell u that trucks are the least of the problem. Oh by the way i have never seen any drug use or sale ever. I have seen more illegal activity at evo meets.

Ignorant post of the year candidate. Have you ever been inside a truck stop? Plenty of "legal" speed out there, (and no shortage of illegal drugs passing hands, either). It doesn't take more than a brief period on our highways to observe for oneself the caliber of most semi drivers in this country. They'll cut off twenty "four wheelers" on an uphill grade to preserve a one mph differential between themselves and another eighteen wheeler. Don't fool yourself on where their loyalties lie. And when a 60K pound big rig tangles with a car, guess who wins? We need major legislation to curb the slaughter that's going on every day on our highways with this misbegotten industry.
As for how our goods get here, etc., we've long ago in this country given up on sane rail transportation, and the coming dark age of petroleum scarcity will show us all the errors of those ways.
I'll say it again: all big rigs to the right lane and 55 mph.
Speed governors and route recorders - mandatory - fifty states.
