Looking at the new tech guide for the lancer and found some interesting items.

Aluminum alloy cylinder block with steel sleeves lining's "none serviceable"
Plastic cylinder head cover.
Return-less fuel system.
No balance shaft equipped.
Silent timing chain.
Cylinder head is serviceable, but only once .2mm maximum removed.

i was looking at a brand new lancers motor and i noticed the intake manifold was plastic...do you know if that is true for the 4b11?

 

I'm new to the 4G63 mill, but after reading that.. I'm glad I bought my IX instead of waiting for the X.

Timing chain instead of belt? Like a motorcycle? I HATE that noise! Worse ticking than our lifters...
