Really Bad Dealership Experience
So im in the market for a new car in the coming months and have been looking at the 2006 gto, sti and evo. i have heard all these rumors of how terrible the evo's interior is and wanted to check it out for myself today as well as hopefully get a test drive. I was in Van Nuys visiting my sister so i stopped into MILLER MITSUBISHI on Van Nuys blvd.
I pull up and they have SEVEN evo's, and this a small dealer so im like sweet. they also had a evo 8 rs used, checked it out, 30k miles 27k dollars!! now i knew this was overpriced, but figured, eh, new ones probably arent much more. I have never been more wrong.
This salesman strolls out, walking like he has a stick up his ***, and introduces himself. He is about 18 years old, says "what do you want to check out" i say, "those over there (point to the evo 9's). I said i wanted to see a gsr, he goes "lets go inside, its cooler" which I knew meant hey, i have an mr inside and my SUPER SMART 18 year old brain thinks it can convince you to buy that.
We walk in, i get in the evo, and the interior is WAYYYYYYY better than i imagined, looked just as good as the sti interior. But i tell him, i want the se or gsr, i dont want to pay 34 k. so we walk around the car and i see the sticker, 35k, then i look to the right, I recognized it right away, a dealer mark up form. Im thinking, uh oh, this can't be good, roll my eyes down the sheet 45k DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! about a 10k DOLLAR MARK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! go outisde, SE 42K DOLLARS!!!!GSR 41K DOLLARS!!!!!
So i tell the guy, you guys are kidding right? he says "no, we cant keep these on the lot, we can charge what we want." i say "really, because i see seven here and its the weekend and im the only person here". Then i say, "these cars are at least 6 months old right, i mean they are 2006's and its the fourth month of 2007", he says "no, these were just built
they are from japan!! i say what the hell does being from japan have to do with when they were built? he doesn't answer that question and starts to ask me when i want to buy the car. I tell him never, not at that price, he says "dont worry about the price"
wtf, what else would i worry about?
So then i say "look, lets go inside, i will show you online that i can buy this exact car new for 27k", he says "we don't have any rebates", i say "i know, i didn't say you did, lets go look at your computer." Then he says "i don't want to look at my computer"
, im like ok this guy is a total idiot. Then he says "you know, i have to feed my family" wtf, like thats my job?? rip me off so you can feed your family.
At this point the general manager (who is 20 max) comes out and asks me if i can afford the insurance, im like jesus these *******s pop out of that office like diarreah. then i just say "well can i test drive the car or what?" i didn't figure they would let me, but the tool comes back and says "yeah, but not until you sign the paperwork" i say, "you mean the paperwork that makes me the owner, if i sign that im pretty sure i can drive it whenever i want." then i just laughed in their faces for about 20-30 seconds and took off.
So, long story short, don't go to Miller Mitsubishi on Van Nuys in Van Nuys, CA. oh yeah, GO DODGERS!!
P.S. im pretty sure im going to get the evo, somewhere else obviously, so i'll be around here alot in the coming months, can't wait to get my car!!

Miller Mitubishi is filled with poor sales people who don't know squat about the Evo. I live in Los Angeles, have for all my life and have checked out most Mitsubishi dealers within a 50 mile radius of. I went there about two years ago and test drove a VIII MR. Test drive was fine, but they are small and not really on top of their sh**. I was just at Southcoast Mitsu on Saturday(where I bought my IX SE), they resurfaced both of my front rotors(they were warped) and I got a free oil change--all under warranty. Did I mention that they had at least 35-40 Evo's in the back lot? Mr's, SE's, SSL's, and RS's. Take your pick
I would suggest taking your business down there. It is worth the 50 mile drive for me as they know what they are doing. Good luck.
different people have different shopping habits. and different dealerships have different sales methods. some might not let you test drive the car, but then there are some who believe that part of selling a car is getting the customer to fall in love with the car, thus the test drive.
Wow that was bad. They tried that same poop with me and I just get in their faces. One guy said that same B.S with me that "I have a family man, a little girl."
I proceeded to tell him I would slit his daughters throat if it knocked a dollar off my cars invoice. Needless to say I was tossed out but called back in a week later.... Take no B.S., get the Mitsubishi Employee Sponsorship Program if you must; I did
