lol. I love the word proven. look at the masses of race cars (of all types) and you will find that a LARGE percentage use autometer. that is proven to me. not a bunch of people on a fourm that were told that defi is good and they believe everything they are fed. don't get me wrong, my defi`s were very nice. but in reality, they were off by a couple psi on the boost gauge. The autometers, however, are dead on. Either way, they are both a good choice.

The main reasons you see a lot racers running Autometer are:

They are relatively cheap and readily available.
They have a sponsorship deal with them.
That is all the rules in that particular series will let them run.
They just don't know any better.

Working in racing and seeing a relatively large volume of gauges. I'll tell you that Autometer gauges are all over the place. You got some that read accurately and should count your self lucky. I have them in my car as well but, only after I checked their accuracy at work and was sure they were right.

Most race teams would prefer to use their data acquisition as their gauge display but, rules in a lot of series prohibit that as well as cost for most small teams.

I've heard nothing good about these Gauges.

Defis are solid man, everyone swears by them, and so do I

The BFs are just perfect IMO

Agreed. I PMed a few people who ran them last year. I was having a tough decision between them and BFs. The stepper motor and needle lock scared me off and I got the BFs. Rock solid and razor accurate. I do like the feature set on the Nexus, but with luck like mine I wasn't willing to take the risk.

Check out the Brockway digital gauge in Dropspeed's car. Here is the post:

I think reading from the ECU is about as accurate as it gets.
