If Any1 here is into the D1GP...
Just finished watching jdm option vol. 36... they did a little piece on Team Orange (infamous impreza squad who one the series last year) and their plans for the new season. Kumakubo will be ditching the impreza, and currently has an Evo 9 in the making! they will be unveiling it at the ebisu circuit. Being that Jun Auto Mechanic is the works shop behind Team Orange, this car is going to be badass... They speak about the engine having the Jun (ofcourse) 2.2L stroker kit, camshafts, moddified head, and Trust TD06H-25G turbine: looking to make 600hp... Team Orange and Kumakubo have been my favorite drifters from the gait, but now, ahhh snizzle snacks, it's on like donkey kong...!!!
D1 Evo!?
yeah the impreza was nice. but now the evo, man cant wait. any pix?
i've been into drifting for a bit, kida reminded me of how WRC cars hit corers. i wonder if he'll still have the bear on his car like on the Suby and try to keep it Rally Style.
D1GP and Formual D sucks.

drifting takes skills.sure it slows you down but drifting is about speed angle and technique
Than it's not a legit racing competition. I have no interest vehicular ballet. Racing is about being fast and not about looking cool.
Everyone has an opinion on drifting...it definitely isn't racing, thats for sure. It definitely takes skill. To me, it seems very hard to be able to judge this kind of competition, since there are no defined rules.

If he likes drifting then so be it. He's not going around saying that drag racing is for those who can't turn fast, or tracking is boring because you go around the same corners over and over. He's just expressing his interest in the EvoM community and there's nothing wrong with that.
Every form of Motorsports has it's own required skills. Drifting require great car control while sliding around the corners as quickly as you can and people love it.
If you don't like D1 or Formula D then you don't have to reply, just ignore the thread.
No pics as of yet, it was just announced. from what they were saying, rather than modding the drivetrain like rmr did to work as a rwd car, they are planning on rotating the engine to use a hollinger tranny, interesting to see how it will turn out.
Are they going to convert it into a rear wheel drive and move the radiator to side like what they did to the Sub? I wonder if they're going to purchase one of the Evo from HKS with the wide body and mod it?
I think that will be cool.

I never said anything about drifting being racing, it's entertainment. it's cool if you don't like it, you're entitled to your opinion. please don't base it off what you see on TV, though, since you don't get a sense of the speed until you watch it in person.

the formula d evo is cool and all, but, sorry to say, the jun evo is definitely going to be steps above the tire rack evo, especially with a veteran driver like kumakubo behind the wheel
