Unhappy STPR Pro Rally-No Evolutions?

I only saw 3 Evolutions there on Saturday!
A yellow one (owned by one of the teams.)
A red one (Foriegn language speaking driver)
A silver one in a parking lot.

I saw at least 60 WRXs and 2 new STIs and 200 Subarus!

I am starting to think the Evo is a drag car in the USA.
Evolutionm.net has tons of talk about drag racing!
Maybe we could get John Force as a guest.

I hope I am wrong

Were you at STPR? Did I miss your car?

I think you have to look at home many Evos Mitsubishi has sold to date compared to how many WRX's, Imprezas, etc. that Subaru has sold. The Evo is a uncommon car so finding more than a few at any one place at a time would be hard, even at an even like the ProRally. On the contrary, Subaru has sold tens of thousands of 2.5RS and WRX vehicles, so finding those will be much easier.

If it's any consolation, I only saw about 4-5 Evos when I went to the Rally of Great Britain last year. Similar to your findings, I saw a ton of Impreza Turbo, WRX, and WRX STi there.

skibum -

did you head to any spectator areas? - the long walk to the asaph stage was the first time i got to see all colors of the evo - mine was silver and was in the big parking lot in the am - i don't think we will ever see as many evos as wrxs - you should compare stis vs evos - yes there were a few of those there - a black one and a white one - guess they don't just come in blue - anyway, glad you made it - sorry i missed you - we had a ball watching higgins kick suby butt in the mud - next event for me is maine summer rally - maybe see you there!

sorry bout the run-on sentence - i hate periods -

I saw your silver Evolution in the parking lot.
I think I walked almost 3 miles up the road in the rain.
It was worth it though.

You are right there are a lot more WRXs on the road.
I was just hoping to see more Evolutions there.
Maybe I was being unrealistic.
Next time hopefully we will see many more.

My red Evo was there (last I checked, I spoke English), parked in the service areas - got used as the parts car for Tom Lawless' Evo 8 Open class car. Luckily all I had to give up was one R front control arm...

We had some issues with a new triple-plate carbon clutch that we were using in his car and Seamus Burke's Evo 6. Testing went great and we know people overseas that had used the clutch with good results but it seems that they couldn't handle the power our cars make with 40mm restrictors...or there were come quality control issues, still researching...

Myself and Mark Williams (Lauchlin's regular co-driver) were going to come up from DC and spectate and hang out with the Mitsu team but both of us ended up not being able to... hopefully next year I will be there... but most likely competing, and not in an Evo 8 unless someone can afford it for me.

Glad to see some fellow Evo 8 owners here are rally people too!

Pablo.

Hey! I'm a big rally fan, as well, but I wasn't able to make it out to STPR this year. Maybe next time around...

Hey Michael, did I meet you at the last 100 Acre Wood rally? I was crewing for Brian Scott. I was the thinner of the two guys on the crew. I asked Brian when his next rally might be, but he told me that he's getting out of it! That sucks! But if anyone wants to buy an extremely fast Evo 6, then he can hook you up.
