Need advice on weight savings for DD...
buddy club coil overs save about 11lbs but then again they are expensive and only the front are lighter so maybe just get springs for the rear and save an aditional 2.5 per side if you want to be that ****
I think you got pretty much all of the items without sacrificing comfort and safety. You could go for a dry carbon hood, lighter than the aluminum hood, but very very expensive and what everyone else said with lighter after market performance parts.
Tires. Start researching tires. Some of the most common daily driver tires are stupid heavy. These are the most important part of rotating mass since they are the farthest away from the hub. I'm supprised nobody has said this by now.
Roof. Not only could you go with the AMS carbon roof, but you could also get an aluminum one from Satan or a car part-out if you're lucky.
Replace your front strut bar with the DC Sports titanium bar? That's the cheapest one out there and it's great.
Get rid of the carpeting in the trunk. Yes it's light, but so is the rear windshield wiper. Every little ounce adds up.
Drive with no more than 1/2 a tank of gas at all times?
Zip-ties. Never underestimate the power of zip-ties. Factory bolts are heavy in comparison.

now I just need to find one of those detailed weight savings threads (Trinababe) and add up my ^^^ potential savings...
I'll try to incorporate both weight saved and $$$ into my above list and post up the results, to see whether this is a cost-effective endeavor or not.
IMHO, weight savings > power mods; whereas one only makes you go faster, the other makes you go faster/accelerate quicker/stop quicker/handle better. Too bad my Evo is my DD...
I am interested to see how much difference a meager hundred pounds will make.

Good post; I was thinking of making more trips to the gas station and only filling up to 1/2 tank...
I agree with the tires part; when it comes time to change out the wheels/tires, I will definitely be doing some research there.
For now, looks like I'll have to start driving around on bald tires to save weight.
In addition to zip-ties...
AutoZone and Napa have lots of nylon screws of various sizes. Some of them are the same as the screws and bolts that hold the dash and interior trim together. Just be sure to keep the metal ones that are being used as a ground bus.

Any aftermarket exhaust is quite a weight savings compared to stock Exhaust as is the Mini Battery and I would not worry about not starting with mini battery as I have used 1 for 2 winters in a row and no problem starting, even in -5 degree weather,5 days in a row
Take off the interior door panels, take a dremel and remove all the guts of the door. Door all four and your looking at like 200 lbs of steel. Now if your worried about your kids, dont do that.
a short list
ti exhaust - 900+ or go custom 1500+..........-25+lbs
ams front crash bar - 225 or so..... -7lbs
ams rear mustache delete kit - 220 or so......-13lbs
buschur racing side diff brakets - 275 or so....... -5lbs
devo drive shaft - 550 or so.......-15lbs
mini batt kit 200+ for good ones.......-15 to -20 lbs
gyro disk to piece rotors front 700 rear 750...... -15lbs
light weight rims1800+...... average -2 to -4 lbs per rim.
remove sound deadening - free.......... if all of it -21lbs
