Best way to color match your VG?
I bought a plain ol abs black VG, I want to get it color matched to my tarmac black. My question is what's the best way to match the paint and keep cost low. I was quoted from a shop $210 to prep and paint. Thanks

whoa,,way high price....even the factory ones are not spot on perfect matches...shop around you should be able to get a shop to do this for less than half that price. Just make sure they do it correctly...

should be about $60+ to paint. If you just get a regular black with clear coat itll match. The tarmac black is not a special black.
PS ask them if they can just spray your VG along with a car thats already being painted black.

$210 for JUST paint? You're kidding me, right?
Most paint, for a full quart, doesn't cost more than $50 (most). For a VG, you wouldn't need any more than 4oz (that's taking into account either RM or PPG brand paint, which is 2:1 and 1:1 respectivly). For clear, you wouldn't need more than 12oz sprayable.
What are the hourly body/paint rates there? (~70, being in cali?)
They shouldn't be charging you more than an hour to paint it either.
