Someone asked me if an Evo 8/9 engine will fit in a 95 Talon Tsi? Not knowing the answer I was wondering if anyone here could lend me a hand on this question.

Wondering if it will bolt right up or will it need fabrication? If so, how fabbing is needed? Thanks.

I believe it will, the talon uses the same 4g63

 

Thats about as intelligent as you're going to get. Theres no how-to but people have done a lot crazier stuff. Money talks.

both the talon and the evo use the 4g63 motor except certain things face the opposite way on the talon just like the 1st & 2nd gen eclipses...I would think an evo block would bolt right into place, but Im not positive...

 

if it doesnt just shoe horn it in.

no it wont. the engine will fit in but it will take a ton of work to get the trani to go in because they face different ways. the turbo is on the other side and im pretty sure the exhaust and intake mani will have to be custom made because they will not fit in betweeen the radiator support on the talon. this was all according to slowboy racing becaue i asked them this be4 hehe

 

**** is backwards on the DSM's. But the shortblock might drop in.

thats what Im saying...the block and head would most likely be able to be bolted in but the accessories, mani, turbo, intake mani, tranny, etc...would all have to be fabbed to fit or be used from a 1st or 2nd gen talon/eclipse depending on what gen he is putting the engine in...

his original question was will the engine fit...nothing about tranny, turbo, etc...

Personally I think its a waste of time...why not just build a bulletproof 6-bolt? It would probably be cheaper

 

yea i did that after my 7 bolt crankwalked, but then my built 6 bolt walked after 1500 miles.... i have good luck with cars huh?

You might as well just build a 4G63 out of an Eclipse or Talon. They can make crazy power just like the Evo's 4G63
