People with Carbon Fiber lip

I am just curious, how many of the Evo owners out there completely damaged their CF lip. I'm not talking about being scratched by the curb, but I'm talking about it being totally broken.

The reason why I'm asking is because someone said that CF looks great and all, but a little to fragile for street use.

What do you guys think?

i think its the driver's responsibility not to create too much damage on their cf lip. its pretty much unavoidable unless its a complete show car. as for the how many have damage them already...you cant really count all of them because everyone will not reply about it.

Just be careful with it. take steep ramps/bumps/curbs at an angle.

I totally damage mine, but the way its crack its weird..... It crack straight across the top where you attach it to the bumpers. So in a way it looks like nothing happen to it. When the sun shine on it, look like new, when its not sunny you can so tell its crack. and scratches on the side cuz of when i hit it from going down the hill, its like a compress scratch.

I was planning on doing a cf lip but if im lowering my car i know i will be scratching and hitting it all the time. They look great if you can keep them from hitting anything.

You're always going to scrape the bottom of any lip if the car is lowered. The difference between the OE lip and the carbon lip is pulling up to parking curbs. If you hit the parking curb with the OE lip, it may get scratched but not break/crack like a carbon or fiberglass lip.

In the end it's up to the driver,if you're not paying attention they'll both get hammered. The OE is just more forgiving.

either that or you reverse your car into a parking lot.. but then again, there may be a chance of hitting your exhaust... :P

I have not had any problems with mine, had some minor scrapes , and my car is lower 2 inches. Just be really carefull when you are pulling up to a parking spot that has a curb.

I have a evo 8 with a lip, but removed it because the whole bottom piece of my bumper ended up breaking off with the carbon fiber lip, the car looks great with the lip, but i wouldnt recommend it due to the fact that you always have to be taking care of it and driving slow.

Ive had mine on for awhile now and the car is fairly low. Ive hit it several times fairly hard and even though it it pretty scuffed on the bottom it hasnt broken yet.

i just removed me duluck lip because it was cracked on the sides and then i had to get out of a driveway and it was completely unavoidable and it was hanging off. It looks amazing but if your lowered its not a great idea.

I was driving behind a friend and fellow Evo owner with a fake CF lip when something flew up and hit the lip and damaged it pretty good. I had to use duct tape to hold it on for a while. Now I have a Ralliart CF lip and Evo 9 front bumper. The Ralliart lip seems much tougher and more durable.
