Aftermarket Alarm - which noise maker to get
Aftermarket Alarm - which noise maker to get
So, I just looked at the specs for the EVO and it has:
- Anti-Theft Engine Immobilizer
- Keyless Entry
But, based on this, I assume it does not have the standard horn noise maker with the little red flashing LED that most other car makers integrate into the their cars these days.
So, the question is, what would be the BEST & CHEAPEST noise maker alarm I can get that would tie into the Keyless system.
About 10 years ago, I got an Alpine 8027 that just spliced into the auto-locking system and it had a shock sensor too. It is cool as it rolls up my windows automatically and I basically use the alarm module to lock/unlock the car instead the key.
Please don't get into how effective alarms are, as I don't care. I just want a noise maker to wake me up when the car is in front of the house and someone decides to bump it or something and the neat feature of the window rollup. Oh, I also don't really care about the alleged rumors that an aftermarket alarm voids all my warranty for the electrical system. I would fight with them to the death if they said that my light bulb burned up because I installed an alarm... Law states that they have to prove that my item actually caused fault in other electrical systems, not the other way around.
I'm not interested in the high end motion sensors, supplemental battery packs, pagers, etc. Just a pretty simple noise maker like Alpine 8027 (do they still make them?) This way I could have one remote for both cars....hmmmm that's a good idea...
