70/30 water to coolant ok?

Going to do my coolant this weekend. How do I get a 30% coolant and 70% water ratio? Manual says 6.3 qts. capacity. So if I'm not mistaken, 2 qts. of pure coolant and 4.4 qts. of distilled water to fill the whole system?

Was wondering if its ok to run 30/70 in winter as well. I don't think it really gets below zero in NJ in winter time.

isnt there something in redlines brochure that says only do 100% water and water wetter if you dont plan on using A/C??

If you plan on using A/C in your car its best to go with 70% H20 and 30% coolant/antifreeze with some water wetter....

Here's my recipe:

Engine Coolant Capacity: 6.3qt & 0.69 in reserve tank = 6.99qts
1 quart = 0.25 gal

1 bottle Water Wetter (12 oz) = 0.375 quarts
1 quart 100% Antifreeze/Coolant
5.62 quarts Distilled Water (1.40gal)

Total= 6.99 quarts

Car feels good. The temp gauge actually dropped a little bit.

I have not had any problems and I use my A/C all of the time. I live in Florida.

most people fail to realize that water transfer heat and anti freeze is for cold weather so your coolant wouldn't freeze up. COOLANT doesn't cool your engine in anyway. MY evo have 90% of water and 10% of Water Wetter stuff. run more than 50% of coolant is crazy.

No problem. In the recipe I used 15% antifreeze/coolant (which is the minimum) because that's what Redline calls for on street cars, especially if you live in a colder climate.

Antifreeze is also a lubricant and an anti-corosion additive. I run 70/30 DISTILLED water and antifreeze, and a bottle of water wetter.

Where I work we grind knives with antifreeze, it is a lubricant, that's why I suggested redlines water wetter..it is a lubricant and anti corrosive agent....antifreeze is crazy for anyplace other than extreme cold climates...
