sounds very strange, id gonna have to say the same another guy posted. did you leave any food or food wrappers in the car? that would usually be the result right there. i've seen roaches and other types of pest in in a friends car where basically leaves everything in there. gummy bears, empty yoo hoo bottles and so forth. if not maybe you just had some bad luck.

If you have taken the grommet out from the hole behind the glove box to insert any wire/tube for boost gauge etc. then check it out, if its still open. Mice can enter through the smallest of holes.

I have also faced the mice trouble in my car. One of them was deep fried in the heat of my car in the engine bay. Other one cut through a lot of wire, intake scoop etc. in the engine bay. I had my wires cut near that grommet hole behind the glovebox, but luckily the mouse did not enter the cabin.

Thanks for the great link to pet smart, it'll be swinging by there today to pick some of that up. The fabreeze i used worked very well, but there's a bit of an odor left.

In terms of ways for the mouse to get in, I'm gonna pull my cabin filter today to check that, and look in the trunk for signs of entry. The only wire I've installed through the firewall was a power wire for an amp, but that's going through the grommet that's behind the driver side wheel well, and i ran the wire through by poking a hole with an ice pick and threading the wire through that hole, so there's no chance of it getting through without eating it's way.

If i find anything I'll let you guys know.

Oddly enough i do have a high flow cat that I'll be installing shortly.

I've had a rat chew up my injector harness on one cylinder, and leave a half eaten cooking ontop of my battery - true story! No, I did not leave the cookie there ontop of my battery.

So the cabin filter is clean, the trunk shows now signs of mouse whatsoever and there are no other holes chewed anywhere. I'm going to have to assume it jumped into the car when washing / vacuuming or it was in a container that I put in my car.

Mouse in my engine!

Out of pure coincidence I ran across this thread today! This past weekend I was cleaning my car and doing some tune-up work which included some new plugs & plug wires. My girlfriend was helping so I do have a witness to this including pictures!

So I pull the spark plug cover off the engine and see piles of insulation all around the valve cover. I thought wtf is this? Some Mitsubishi gimmick that helps retain heat similar to wrapping exhaust headers? As I pulled handfulls of insulation from around the spark plug cables, one of the cables looked funny. Why that almost looks like the cables have been chewed! Then the light bulb went on. My roommate mentioned that he had seen a mouse running in an out of my garage a few weeks ago. I found a hole near the garage door and filled it in with crushed stone. No signs of mouse in the past few weeks. I also noticed some of the insulation in the corner of my garage was pulled out when I recently moved some tires. I put all of this together and realized that the mouse must have crawled up into the spark plug well one night and made a little home for himself. I didn't find any body so I guess he vacated his new home after the first night.

I'm just happy he didn't use newspapers from the recycle bin. That's all I would need! How would I explain an engine fire to the insurance company?

I'll post some pics when I get the time.....
