Does anyone else feel this way?
ok look for the longest time evo owner and everyone else in forums have complained that the evo lacks in the looks department inside and out. So what do ou think mitsu will do, LISTEN to the public and try to make them happy within bounds. So, they redesign the car inside and out, I think they did a wonderful job. Mitsubishi probably has reached their engineering limits with the cast iron engine so they are trying to hop on the engineering bandwagon like everyone else and make the whole engine aluminum (sleeved by the way). US version finally gets the YAW control so why all the fuse??. dam it pisses me off people complain about stuff, then when they finally get it they still complain. its like freaking old people man, they are never happy. errrr.
Sorry for the 'lack of purpose'. The original intent was to hear what others thought about the STi going more hardcore sports, and the Evo, going more refined, when, historically they were reversed.
When I bought mine it was a no compromise track monster, which, in a pinch could do daily duty. Now, the Evo X will be so much more 'refined' it feels like it is loosing some of it's edge, when the STi folks are just sharpening the blade.
Again, it was a question of others opinion, sorry the purpose was so elusive.

if I was going to buy a new car right now and have a decision between the evo 9 and the 07 sti
I honestly think I'd buy the sti
the new gearing makes it so much more track and powerband friendy...and Subaru actually honors warranties which is more comforting
neither the new evo or sti look appealing at all
only time will tell

Eff the X......
....its built on a DODGE CALIBER chasiss..that alone turns me away from it! Along with no more 4g63, crappy styling, the fact that its side profile looks like a cheap version of the acura TSX (look at rear door line and roofline), AND flatout its too much a Diamler-Chrysler!
Im fine with my 8, plan on running it into the ground, fixing it - then running it into the ground again

the only person at my house who cares how the car 'looks' is my wife (whom I love dearly).
I don't give a rat bottom about looks, bring me go and grip, leave the aesthtics to the show car guys.

I agree, looks don't matter when it comes to a car like the Evo. To me it can look like a actual piece of turd and I would still buy it for the performance alone.
i really like the look of the X better than it is now but hey i still love my VIII. as for the tsx it looks good but not as good as the lancer or new evo. and as for performance like vigo said we just have to wait and se what people are gonna be able to do with the thing.
