Does anyone else feel this way?
I sold my Evo some time ago, and have been biding my time to get another. I have had a few deals fall through on some RS's, but nothing too upseting. So, after reading and researching, i had decided to wait on the X to come out, and make my decision on a used 9 or a new 10 them.
So, FF to today, I was reading the new Road & Track, and they were comparing the Evo X to the new STi. I had no idea, the new STi is no joke. In the past, I always saw the STi as more refined, and the Evo as a more hard nose sports sedan. Now, the Evo will be heavier, more 'commuter' friendly, tecno-laden, etc, while the STi, trims 200lbs, adds 6pot Brembos, custom dampened suspension, and only comes with pieces that add grip or go. 0-60 in 4.5 and quarter mile in 12.5 or less, STOCK. No fancy paddle shifters, no nice stereo, no huge wings .. .just one slick car.
Am I the only one who feels the Evo and the STi have swapped roles?
I have to admit, with STi's going so hardcore, and with AMS working on STi's, the X will be a hard sell for me.

Don't get too worked up over the article. It's not based in hard fact. It's merely their "interpretation" of how things will look and how the cars will perform. Those are all photochops. And they quote the exact same performance numbers for the X. Isn't going to happen with either one of them.

that is part of my concern too. Modding is going to be expensive, and tuning, will be a challenge as well. And with the car being 'smarter', how much will they be able to flash, before jacking up somehing?
i am sure tuners will get there, but it will take time.....

i wouldn't wait for the X... mitsubishi is trying to mainstream the evo, which i think is a mistake.
the evo should remain what it is... a detuned rally car with all its sparse and harshness. its what i call a cult car with a loyal following. if i wanted luxury i would have bought an M3.
thats my opinion.
