MY oil dipstick is poping out causeing Mager Problems plesae Help

ITS a long thread but please help me!!

i just bought a 2003 evo last week and already have some problem. let me start from the begining i bought the car on thursday, and drove it all day friday and saterday with no problems. then i went to autozone to get stuff to change the oil. I bought 5 quarts of mobil 1 5w30 and a mobil 1 oil filter. on sunday i installed the filter and drained the oil with no problem. then i started the car let it run a while then rechecked the dipstick. add a tad bit more and drove to work. when i got home i checked the oil again and it was fine.

Monday

i went to work in the morninng and was driving a little to happy got it up in the 5-6k rpm range. then when i went to pop the hood and show my co worker the motor i could smeel oil. then when i lifted the hood thier was oil everywere! the dip stick poped out pass the 2 o rings and oil went all over the vaulve cover and everything. so i wiped it all down then let the motor cool a little. then i checked the dipstick. it seemed a tad bit low so i added a drop of oil (which a always keep a quart in the trunk in a ziplock bag just in case). then i thought every thing was fine. then later around lunh time i drove to get luch at burgerking and was driving pretty fast. was getting it up to 5k rpm again. then when i got back to work i poped the hood and the oil dipstick poped out again and oil went everywere! i rechecked the dip stick and it seemed to be fine.i didnt add any oil this time and drove home kinda easy after work. i pulled over half way going home and poped the hood. this time the dip stick was fine. so i was thinking it must be poping out only when im in boost at high rpm. so i reved out 1-4 gear and then pulled over again. the dipstick seemed to be fine. it hasnt poped out at all today but its got me worried. i think thier might of been to much oil in it but i dont see how when i check the dip stick mutipul times. the dip stick also never poped out until i changed the oil.

has anyone every had this problem before?

p.s. i bought the car and it came with a oil catch can. i dont know what kind it is and really dont know ezakleey what it does. i know it makes sure no oil gets in the intake but thats all i know about it.

Also does the oil catch can need to be empteyed? it feels like it has a drain plug under neath it but i dont want to unscrew it if i dont know what im doing

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is my catch can

this is were the dip stick wsa poping out. You can kinda see were the oil is at in the motor.(i couldnt get a rag to reach down thier to clean it)

Bucshur racing has a spring for the dipstick problem that keeps it from poping out, and 10w-30 mobil 1 is the factory fill. as for the dipstick problem some evos do some don't just get the spring for it, here's a link to it.

as far as the catch can needing to be emptied take it out and un-screw the drain and check.

Yes there is the spring correction or you could do like we used to on dsm's and just crimp the dip stick tube. This used to happen on DSMs all the time, it even caused a few fires.... I would correct it either way. Maybe tape it until you get it corrected.

Yeah, get the retension spring, That is if your dipstick keeps acting up. Doesn't look like your catch can is full but emptying it wouldn't hurt.
Just a suggestion but I would put the stock intake back on and upgrade your bov. Unless the cars been tuned for the intake which I doubt. Then let the further modding begin.

Do a compression check, I bet your getting tons of blow by. It might be time to rebuild your engine.

I don't recommend holding the dipstick in place. This is a very bad band-aid solution. Why is the dipstick flying out of the tube in the first place? One of two reasons:

1.) bad PCV valve
2.) Busted rings

You are better off fixing the before mentioned problems rather than trying to ignore them by plugging up the dipstick. If you live anywhere near Baltimore, you can come over to my garage for a compression test ($20) =)

I agree, had the same problem and you need to check your oil pressure and PCV plus a compression test wouldnt hurt. Its one thing for the dip stick to come out, but when you boost and it literally shoots oil everywere thats not right. Course I would make who ever I bought it from fix it.
