Contacting Mitsubishi

Has anyone tried or knows how to get in touch with mitsubishi regarding a technical matter?

Cliff notes: Dealer used 75-w85 GL-4 in my t-case and rear diff, now t-case whines. Dealer says (although admits using wrong fluid) GL-4 will not cause a whine but abuse does.

Now they admit using GL-4 instead of Diaqueen LSD, but say that's not the cause of the whine. The said they will email mitsubishi and ask then what would happen to the t-case if GL-4 was used instead of Diaqueen LSD.

Based on the answer they receive from them, they will decide if they are to blame or not

What i want to do is contact mitsubishi myself (incase they lie about it). Does anyone if mitsu japan or even NA can give me technical answers? All i want to ask them is 'will GL-4 cause a whiny t-case'

Any help appreciated. I need proof the next time i meet them! Help me out. Emails or contact numbers would be great

Thanks

Contacting Mitsi USA

I only have a phone number for the customer service department. I went through a whole bunch of crap getting my wing replaced under warranty. The dealership said headquaters had denied my claim, not excepting this I asked for the headquaters phone number plus the case number of the claim. The dealership would not give me this information, which really upset me, found Mitsi Usa's number called them to find no claim was ever filed ( after waiting 2 months for a decision !! ) Now that took it to a whole new level.....
Bottom line they replaced the rear wing but it took nearly 3 months from start to finish.
Here's the number and good luck. 1-800-380-4313.

thanks guys..

What i really is written proof. I can't call a toll free number from outside the US (I'm in Kuwait). I tried going to the Japanese website to get some emails but their website is only in Japanese.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

you could always point them to your owners manual. It specifically says to only use diaqueen oil, and that using other products may cause damage to the transfercase

to my knowledge, owners manual does infact state that only dilaqueen LSD should be used. However, it does not state the consequences of using other oils.

For that reason, i want to contact mitsubishi myself and show them the proof as emails

I did use different oil and it started to whine, dont ask me why. I put dia-queen and it stops!... I would use diaqueen, unless your t-case-rear is modded you can go with different oil.

they are just dumb.

The owners manual states to use Mitsubishi Limited Slip Differential Oil (LSD) or "equivalent". That is both for the transfer and rear axle. Now this was printed for the 2005 Evo VIII so I'm not sure about the IX's, but it does state you can use an equivalent so you are not limited to the Diaqueen.

My buddy had his transfer case worked on and they somehow put the GL-4 in it... It made the same "wine" type of noise that you are talking about.. Switch back to the right stuff that is in your manual!! Just my input (:
