What is considered normal wear and tear is clutch disc facings and is not covered under warranty. What is covered under warranty are: the transaxle case and all internal parts, gasket, and seals; transmission case and all internal parts, gaskets, and seals; transfer case and all internal parts, gaskets, and seals; torque converter (including ring gear); transaxle, transmission and transfer case mounts.

Yea I would definitley not post this up on the forums as the dealer could use it against you. It's definitley not hard for them to log into the forum and find this thread.

Your clutch wont be covered because of it being considered a wear item, welcome to evo world where you pay to play, but as far as him telling you ,
"you have no warranty" he is full of s^it and is talking out his ***.

Magnusson-Moss warranty act.
US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) .

anyone who blows a clutch in a year does not deserve to drive an Evo.

Well if your warranty is voided it will be because of the drag racing not the filter. It's possible that your clutch was defective from the factory but not likely. My guess is once they take the trany off and inspect the clutch and flywheel they'll be able to tell. If the flywheel is scorched and or the disk is cooked. Then that would lean toward bad or aggressive driving.

I still don't see y so many people drag race this car so much. It is a much better autocross and road race car.

Stock the IX car runs 12.9 to 13.3 if you can drive. If you can't get those numbers then your launch needs pratice but when you pratice you could end up with a spent clutch in no time.

If you're concerned about your warranty then it would be advised that you keep your car as close to stock as possible.

Good Luck
