This gauge is for a Buick GN(miss ya) and I was wondering if they make one for an Evo. Checked out there site and it doesn't look like they make one. It would be nice if they did though. I sent them an email about making one for Evos. What do you think?

That would be nice, but this is the first I have ever heard of a such a gauge, and I dont think you'll find on for the evo. unless you can Mod this gauge.

Remember my GN as well.........not as versatile as the EVO though but IMO even easier to make fast. Dude you should buy the gauge and just retrofit some overlay on top of the turbo6 symbol face. I had the other knock sensor the one that looks like a radar detector but all the same

what would help more a knock gauge or EGT?? i have room for one more gauge in my setup...

 

I have the Knocklink on my Evo and it has a similar colored LED dispay except the lights are arranged in a straight line rather than a circular layout. For the Buick, IMO, the best knock gauge was the Scanmaster from Modern MuscleCar, because it gave a readout in degrees of knock retard, captured directy from the factory knock sensor/ECU datastream. If I remember, it would give tenths or hundredths of a degree of knock in digital display and had a peak/hold recall function, retrievable after each WOT event.

The Scanmaster was kinda neat due to a switchable data stream readout from all of the important sensors, such as Throttle Position, Idle Air Temp, Knock count, IDC, Voltage, RPM, coolant temp and more. Incidentally, I think that there is a Scanmaster available for the Evo but it unfortunately doesn't have knock detecting capability.

 

I like the Scanmaster3 as well.

 

Yeah, I think back when I had my Buick in the 90's that mine was the ScanMaster II version. Take Care.

I have often wanted to Email Mike Licht at Modern Muscle and ask him why the Scanmaster for the Evo doesn't give a readout for knock. If it did I'd buy it in a hurry.
