Nos racing octane booster

Alright I am wanting to increase my octane. Right now I am running 93 octane. Unfortunately I do not have an option for race gas around here. So I looked at the nos racing formula octane booster. It says it can raise the octane by 60(that's right) 60 points. Which would increase the octane by 6 theoretically, most likely 4 or so. Anyhow if it bumped it to 97 octane or higher would this be good?

Would I be able to run around 25 psi safely? I am running 21.5-22psi currently. I have been researching this booster and haven't really found much so any help would be appreciated. I know torco works, and will probably order it if everyone says this booster won't help.

one of the tuner mags had an awesome article about "octane booster" products vs. homemade toluene mix solutions. i'm looking for the link as we speak, maybe somebody else has it. as well as i remeber the Nos product won the reveiw, it even beat the toluene mix for octave/price.

there are some outlaw shot bottles that seem to work really well for me. 4 in a pack. 3.5 fl. oz. (103 ml). only a quarter size of the nos bottles but just as effective.

nos won the scc octane boos test. i used it when i was in cali on 91. definitely works. but i would warn people that its possible it could wear your plugs quicker. i had to change my plugs when i got home.

Torco in my opinion. And yes you'll have to change plugs more often when running Torco.

used torco here and there but not enough to notice any chance to spark plugs... did i notice a difference? i dont know. i only added for safety, not to advance timing or boost.

Were you knocking really bad or running really low octane? If not then you wated your money on Torco.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot....

Buy 1 gallon of Xylene
Buy a lil bottle of 2 stroke oil
Buy a gallon gas can

Pour 1 gallon of xylene in the gas can, and add the lil bottle of 2 stroke oil. Put the lid on the can and start shaking it up and then pour it in your gas tank.

Simple and works.....

I wouldn't trust any type of octane booster you can purchase at Autozone. The chemicals are dangerous (unhealthy to the environment), unproven to work, and may damage your spark plugs or o2 sensors. If you want to use a high performance fuel, get a meth kit, or use E85 or race gas.

Any leaded gas is going to decrease, and eventually cause a catastrophic failure of the o2. Including race gas. At the point you decide you need to use additives, octane boost, race gas etc. The cost of the 02 sensor shouldnt be an issue, and you know going in that you will need to get a spare.

Specifically speaking of the NOS brand stuff. I have no idea. I get 116 here.
