What to look for/request the dealer when picking up the new car?
I'm almost closing in on a deal. Will be buying my car for the first time, the Evo8, within the next couple days. Is there anything I need to request the dealer to do? anything I should tell them not to do? What should I look out for? Also, what's a good mileage to have, un-test driven?
Mine came with 3.9 miles.
I checked the carbon fiber tail for the bubbles people had mentioned and looked down both sides for any scratches/dings, also gave the interior the once over and looked at the wheels.
After you get it home be sur ethe shipping spring spacers are gone and check your tire pressures. I also checked the oil just to be sure.

Really inspect the car for defects. I got a silver one and when I brought it home and polished/waxed it I noticed scratches on the hood (most likely from the dealer running it through a soft cloth car wash). Any defects have them write it down and sign it as a repair. Alignment is a good idea also. Most important is the mileage should be very low. Have fun.

Interesting, this is the first time I have ever heard of a alignment recommendation for a brand new car.
Not to sound dumb or anything, but why get a alignment on a brand new car?

If it isnt a major one, for example - chips on car hood or bumper, I would get a raincheck to fix it at a later date (when you really need to fix the chips and dings). Most importantly is that the mechanical portion of the car was not abused after shipping. No miles is the best thing you can hope for and inspect the tires/brakes/underneath the wheel well/areas where lauching the car could throw stones or chips. If you see nothing, you can have peace of mind.

So far the options I have with my best offer is a silver with 35miles, or a black one for $350 more that wont deliver til a month (black is my color of choice). What would you do?
