I was talking with this guy i know, and the jist of it was...(well he has the 4wd 3000gt '99) he ranted on for about 30 mins on how evo's suck.. and how you can not upgrade them at all.. they are basically cherried out and how his heavy *** 3000gt is the ****. I simplied laughed

3000gts are nice. But I still liek the EVO better!

You should've asked him if the 3000gt is so much better, then why did they stop making them? You could then go on to say, evos were around before, and obviously going to stay around after.

 

3000 GT's are fast but not 0-60mph. Evo would tear it a new one.

 

Oh ya i agree... come down to the track buddy boy... but the i mean if you want some lead drag rocket.. then yes you can use the 3000gt. The finess and style, plus handling that makes me drool over the evo. I dont want some ****ty old car...even sooped up, that handles like a steal beam with wheels. I just think its funny how people go on about how their car is better.. blah...blah..blah... i really think he was just in a stink that i am getting an evo and he payed like 10,000 for his '99 3000gt(stock i believe). But ya, i couldnt have posed a better question "Ask him he he wants to race for $$$" hehehe

wanna hear something rather funny..im jumping from a 92 explorer that the door locks broken....i just recently had my stereo stolen, transmission dies, radiator is real bad(so bad i have to keep cap off and fill it with water completely like 3 times a day) and doesnt attract much attention, to a sleak and well oiled machine aka evo8. Im ready to jizz.. lol

 

Honestly, don't concern yourself with him, there are a lot of biased kids out there, who really don't know anything about cars and just pay people to do the work. Just take pride that you know what you are talking about and be a real enthusiast.

Where I live, in Northern Virginia, they are so many cats who think they know stuff about cars, whatever, weed them out and talk to people who actually has something interesting and worthwhile to say.

 

3000GT is sold in Japan as the GTO, they didn't stop making them, it just didn't sell well. 3000GT's (GTO) are also used as police pursuit cars in Japan, as well as those Nissan Skylines.

3000GT and Evo are two different cars. Remember, the 3000GT was known as the Japanese Corvette. So don't go comparing your Evo to a Vette. Just because it has all wheel drive doesn't make it a rally car like the Evo. Yes, the Evo has a better 0-60 time. Remember, the 3000GT VR/4 also has all-wheel-steering AND a sport-cockpit interior and a far smoother ride - designed for the STREET or smooth racetrack only.

A modified 3000GT VR4 will hand your *** to you in the Evo. Plus, you have to do a massive rev and drop the clutch to get a VR4 killing launch. There is a huge aftermarket for the 3000GT including various turbo upgrades. Beware. They are supercars.

I have a 400+ HP car, my Saturn is my daily driver, but I see that some Evo owners are just winey ricers. I'll go elsewere.
