Anybody taken off their exhaust?
I was just wondering if anybody has taken off their exhaust leaving the rest of the piping on.
There was a guy in columbus that told me to try it and see how it sounds
is there anything wrong with doing that?

BTW - I am also in Columbus.
There are different places you can split the exhaust too. You could seperate it from the down pipe and run with no cat, or just remove the muffler. It's gonna be loud no doubt and it's gonna look odd with no pipe out the rear. If a cop hears that and then sees no muffler or pipe out the rear yer best bet is yer gonna get pulled. Running no cat is a big no no.

Running a 3" turbo back means that you either need to upgrade your stock cat to 3", or use a 3" test pipe instead. Of course, some people opt for a 2.5" downpipe (still bigger than the 2" stock downpipe), to compliment the stock catalytic converter which is 2.5" as well. But my major point is .... having a 3" downpipe, 2.5" stock cat, and 3" cat-back exhaust makes no sense at all since the smaller diam. cat will restrict flow.

The RMR 3" high flo wasn't ready last time I checked (last week). Apparently, the RMR cat is smog legal (i.e sniffer), but violates some code preventing a cat replacement in the first 5 years of the vehicle barring theft (really officer, they stole my cat...), or some sort of catastrophic failure or damage requiring a complete replacement.

k_fabec: The thread said it was like $60 bucks for the setup, and the 3" pipe was welded in after the 1st resonator. I think most aftermarket catbacks have straight-through mufflers, yeah.
