ok so i know that when most evos downshift and upshift in the first 2 or 3 gears the car makes a whining sound, especially in first.. normal. but on downshifting, when i dont rev match, usually in 2 nd gear the most, the car whines sooo loud and you almost feel it a lil in the clutch pedal. i usually rev match to prlong the life of everything, but if im going slow and dont need to, i just let it out slowly and engine break in 2nd and that whine occurs. is this normal or no? what do you think. thanks every1

 

I think what you are describing is normal..... The EVO's make all kinds of noises.....
If you think it's the death whine, you would know.... It's like a train coming up on you! Very loud and usually all the time....

 

It's the TOB (throw out bearing) and it's normal

 

its normal..its just the gear teeth meshing with each other...i hear on mine everyday..
