Shipping Evo to Europe... warranty?

I may be transferred to either our Vienna office or Geneva office. If that happens, I'm considering shipping the Evo over, as my organization will pay for it. However, what happens to my warranty? Can it be transferred to Europe? Will European dealers work on a USA vehicle?

I know a few guys here are AD Mil stationed overseas - perhaps you guys could share some info?

Your factory warranty can't be transferred over to Europe. But you can find shops that can work on your car, just not under warranty.
Good luck.

Trust me on this.. you will 100% not be covered and Mitsu will try to void your warranty if they find the vehicle left the USA. Canada is ok but not anywere else. Go figure.

Not that mine ever left the USA or Canada.

Actually it states you wont have warranty coverage. MMNA just thought it would be fun to void the warranty anyway! I want an Evo X so bad but I just cant support a company that treats its customers this way.

Why ship your car when you can get a better Evo model in Europe. Its just like shipping a Skyline from the US to Japan

OK this guy doesn't know what hes talking about.

In some cases I have heard of people getting warranty work done on cars. Never heard of it on an Evo but I have heard of it.

True story. They have machines that sniff the seat cushions.

Also, if you drive the car in the rain, mud, sunlight, or wind...BOOM...Warranty expires faster than milk in a trailer park convenience store.

Anyways, who cares about the warranty? I've only seen about a 10-20% success rate when claiming warranty work.

Take that Evo to Europe, dude. If only I would have had my Evo when I was stationed in Ramstein.

You might want to double check. As far as Honda and Subaru, you would have to pay the repairs out of pocket while in Europe and file a claim with the warranty in USA for reinbursement. A Mitsu dealership told me the something similar. There is nothing in the warranty guide that said you warranty is voided if it goes oversea. It might not be cover during that time period, but serious doubt they can void it. Worst case scenrio is don't tell mitsu that you car went overseas. You'll just have to fork out your own money for repairs while you're over there. Also, another thing to consider is on military bases in Europe, they sell US spec cars there, such as Hondas brand new. They bring these car back to the States and still have warranty.

At least in Germany, the dealers work on US specs vehicles. I had Hondas, and my buddy had an STI which were both had work done there.

Totally different companies. MMNA does its own thing. Call 'em and ask for yourself.

I would know since I am in Europe with an Evo....

Did you purchase your Evo in the US or in Europe?

I'll give MMNA a call in a couple of days. In the meantime, if anyone else here has experience with this topic, please chime in.
