Will someone help diagnose this please?
K so heres what happened:
- My friend shaun (2003 evo 8) came to my house to get the "stock tune" put back on his ecu. (because he hooked up and afc neo and it reset his fuel maps and he decided he didnt want it anymore)
So anyways we flash it back to stock and it starts up just fine. We go out driving heading to fedex and its running perfect. We get to our destination, turn the car off, and go inside. When we come back out about 15 minutes later the car won't hold a start. It starts and can rev to about 5k then dies. After trying several times, the best it will do now is keep trying to turn over, but it won't. We have tried unplugging the negative battery cable for almost an hour, checked fueses, spark plugs and connections. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!!

wow, strange. I had a dodge ram that i was running a tune on. Took the tune off, it started up fine. Drove to the post office lol...and when I came out she would not turn over. I had to flood the engine to get it going. Turned out somehow a few plugs went bad right away...ironic i must say.
Did you transfer his immobilizer code or not?
If not thats what youll need to do. Not sure why it started and ran but if the car does not have the correct immobilizer code you need to have it in there

For now you can wrap your key in tinfoil and put it by the cylinder lock while his key is inside.. that'll get you moving again.
But as suggested, the immobilizer code sounds like the problem here. Supposedly sometimes you can get the car moving a few blocks before the code kills it.
