Warning this is a Long rant but I need help
Why didn't you take about 7 days leave to fly down there and drive it back? Don't give me any crap about not being able to take leave either. If your first sergeant or commander cares about you then they would support you 100% in this endeavor. Why aren't you allowed to leave the North Star Borrow anyway? I'm fairly certain that when people take leave in Alaska that they leave the state and fly back to the 48 contiguous states.
this is also true... i was going to mention it but forgot to add it at the last sec. im sure he shouldve gotten some kinda leave time to setup the purchase in person because it is harder to get cars way up there. shouldve worked it out with them. as much of a dick my 1SG is ive been able to work with him on some occasions for plans that requires long distance travels to take care of business. i hope your higher ups are easier to work with then mine
Here, in my opinion, are your options:
1) Take your money and run the other way (toward the Vette or Porsche).
2) Buy one from a SoCal dealership for a kick-*** price, fly down there and pick it up in person, and have a wonderful drive back to Fairbanks (probably not too practical if you don't have the time).
Personally, I'd go with #1. The Evo is a great car, but not so great that you should have to suffer the idiocy of incompetent dealers/sales staff/shipping companies.

that's what you get for going through so many channels. the time and headache you save may be worth the convienence of going into a hometown dealership and actually buying the car. even if the price is a little higher. buying new sucks anyway. unless the car looks like hell and has hella mods, buying used is ok. i got mine @ a lexus dealer (05 gsr) back in early 2006 and it was $26,000. 8k miles. not one problem.

you only can take leave during block leave. Yes we can take leave to the lower 48 but only during block leave or emergancys. If it was as easy as leave I would have done that I have 72 days of leave. The reason we cant leave the N.S.B> is that Fort Wainwright is in Fairbanks. Out side of fairbanks the nearest town is so far a way we have to get a pass to even go there. Yes we can get passes on 4 day weekend but your either going to the Sticks or Anchorage thats 260 miles away. Becuase of the distance from Fairbanks to the rest of the US Lower 48 They dont allow us to take passes we have to go on leave. We dont get leave unless its block leave. Now I do have block leave comming up in a month Had I know this was going to be an issue I would have waited. I didnt becuase I was told that this would be no problem at all to get the car to me in a very sorty time. I was lied to.

Well the Dealership called me and they called the Shipping company they Promised they would have the car within 20 miles of my house on the 6th. I guess a little *****ing does work still pisses me off
not much you can do at this point man except find some patience.. before you know it you will have your excellent machine to rip through the snow, ice, and dry pavement. you cant really do that in a vette now can you.?
Hope you enjoy it when you finally get it. Sucks you had to go through all that just to get the car.
Also I don't understand people saying "that's what you get for trying to do this". This kind of service is unacceptable from any business. I don't think anyone would be saying to themselves "well this is what I get for trying to get the car I wanted" if they were in this guys position.

To get anything done with a dealer you have to be a complete hardass. Threaten them with anything you have, tell them youll end the deal, take legal action, w/e, anything to let them know that they need to get that car shipped now--or else theyll keep looking for every opportunity to screw you.
hey Iam from alaska (anchorage) the last time I pass by the mitsu dealership there was like 8 evo there in any color. the majority are also se. Priced are alittle higher around 34000-36000.
