Warning this is a Long rant but I need help

This has been the worst purchase I have ever made. First a little background on the deal. I originally called about a 2006 EVO the last few days of April to Mountain Mitsubishi I told them that I already was approved for a loan and that I have 3-5k I was going to put down. I was told they could do it for 31000 OUT THE DOOR. I said great ill do it but I have to wait for the paper work from the bank and ill have it with in the next 48 hours. They said that’s fine we will pull the car from the line and its yours. Cool I can give you a down payment now over the phone. “That wont be necessary today” His reasons I am guessing is it was late about to close and he wanted to leave. That’s fine I though. I call the next day the paper work from the bank is good. “Well we sold the car last night.” So I was like well I understand someone came with cash and the car was sold I don’t really blame them that much I mean sucks for me but W/E STRIKE 1 .

So we talk and I find out that they can find the car I wanted but now its going to cost more like 3-5k more than we originally talked about. So I say forget it. I then start calling other dealerships. I find one in Cal and for only 29500. So I am excited and I tell them I already have a loan and I am willing to put 5k down on it right then. I give them my information on the phone and I get a call back that night that they are unwilling to work me since I am in AK. I told them I can have someone come get it but can’t my self I am in the Military. I am going to hire a shipping company to get it to me. I am told unless I can come in to sign the paper work and drive it off the lot they are not willing to help me. STRIKE 2 now. So I go around talking to different dealerships and some of them are willing to help me but want a lot more than what others quoted me. Two dealerships continued to call me about the car. Mountain Mitsubishi, and Beaverton both out of Seattle area. So I call back Beaverton since Mountain sort of pulled my deal to get the car out that day. So I talk with the guy and he tells me he has a RED SE 2006 EVO and that he can even match 31K WITH SHIPPING. I am so excited I don’t even think about the color or the fact it doesn’t have power windows.. That night I am looking at every single car I can find online and I think WTF NO POWER WINDOWS ? On an SE… that’s not right so the next day I call and ask hey that car isn’t an SE is it?? “well its got everything an SE does but the power windows and rims and… WTF Dude forget it I wanted a Black SE and now I am getting something else that’s totally now what I wanted. STRIKE 3

So I am so pissed off but I am now determined to get the car I wanted Mind you that I was approved with GMAC for a Corvette from a dealership in Michigan and they promised to have the car to me in 7 days. If I bought it. Note the time 7 days, I am in Alaska Fairbanks. So anyway I bite the bullet and call Mountain Mitsubishi back on May 3rd. I say what do I got to pay to get this car deal done today for a black SE 2006 Evo Lancer bought and shipped to my house. 33,000 and we can do it… He makes a call to make sure they have it. He goes down to put his hands on the car its there. I send him 1500 dollars. THE CAR IS MINE. After doing paperwork though fax machines from my bank and them it takes about 2 weeks for everything to work out. Still not shipped yet. We had a hard time finding the people to ship the car. The people they use normally couldn’t or something. He was having issues with call backs. They found a company they use a lot to **** to Alaska called Alaskan Transport. MM calls me and says I know we have been thought a lot but we found a company but its going to cost 1300 to get it shipped . that’s 1300 more than the original OUT THE DOOR DEAL. I am pissed but again at this point I don’t give a **** I just want my car. So now that we have a shipper and we are ready to go we still are waiting on more BS. There is some paperwork that cant be faxed and they have to send It to me and I have to sign and send back. They mail it to me I sign it and send it back. What they forget to understand is that I am in the military and NOT a Alaskan Resident I send them a copy of my Military ID, Drivers License and some gun stuff to prove I am a Michigan resident. They get it and find out oh we need proof that you live in AK where the car is shipped so we have to do all the paper work over…. That was 2 weeks ago. So I get the paper work back again and sign it as if I am an Alaskan Resident(which I am not) and send it back STILL NOT SHIPPED. They call me and tell me they have taken the car to the port and its going to get shipped out and be here on the 30th. I call Alaskan transport and sure as **** the car hasn’t been dropped off yet. So he calls the dealership to find out when its going to get there. They tell him we will have it here today. NEVER SHOWS UP. Days later the car gets there and guess what its too late the barge has already left. NOW None have called me to tell me this. I am still told the car will be here today.. MAY 30th. So I call today to find out when I can come pick up my car. They guy talks to me like he has no clue what I am talking about. Then he remembers me. Let me look and see where your car is. He then tells me that the car left the port TODAY the day it was support to be delivered to me. Now as if this isn’t bad enough he tells me that its not going to be ready until mid June. STRIKE ****ING 4 & 5.

I am so pissed off and I am willing to bet there is nothing I can do about this right? I mean do any of you know if there are any legal actions I can take? I don’t even want the car now. I am tired of this. I could do down the street and get a vett or pay 15k more and get a 2006 911 used that’s in mint condition had I had to do it all over again I would have got the Sure thing vett. With No issues. I was going to buy a Spider for my wife but I am not willing to ever buy an Mitsubishi again.. I have bought 12 brand new GM cars in my life and NEVER had a SINGLE issue NOT 1. I have bought 3 Motorcycles and had them delivered to my home NOT 1 Issue EVER. So this whole this isn’t just a vent towards the laziness of a dealership to get a deal done after they have been paid but I am also looking for some help. Is there anything I can do?

why didn't you start raising hell with the dealerships asking to speak to the general manager and stuff? the dealership didn't want to help you? wtf is that? i'd be on the phone yelling. it takes a lot for me to get pissed... and that's one thing that would do it.

Wow that was a long rant! Can't believe I actually read all that. Sorry about the issues you are running into but it seem like that dealership was pulling your leg for awhile by saying they had the car when they probably didn't. On top of that, they didn't seem to care about getting your paperwork properly filled out and getting it back in a timely manner. Once you give your deposit they pretty much don't give a shiz. I would talk to the dealership manager and owner, then MMNA and see what they can do for you. I would also give them a bunch of negative feedback if one of those JD Powers surveys happens to be sent to you. Hope everything works out.

Sorry to hear about your experience -- that would sour my view of the Evo too. I thought my experience was bad, but it's nothing compared to yours. When I bought mine the dealership for some inexplicable reason did not have their 'financing person' there, so the sales guy (who was very nice and well-intentioned) had to try to work out the financing.

During the next 5 hours, I had talked to the owner of the dealership over the phone (not worth going into) and the sales guy had to persuade one of the other employees to come to work from home to help with the financing. I was there for over 5 hours (and I decided to purchase the IX in the first 20 minutes and didn't even test drive it).

Hope you are able to still enjoy the car when it arrives, maybe after you've had a week or two to get through the anger.

and you're not buying from a dealer in AK because?
you're not flying down for the weekend to any of these dealers because?

it sounds like your setting yourself up to be screwed and then acting all surprised when your *** hurts.

The dealship in Ak: A. tried to screw me on price.B. is still 250 miles away C. Doesnt have what I want. Only had 1 Evo.

I cant Fly down for a weekend becuase . I am in the military in Alaska. We are not able to leave the North Star Borrow that is pretty much 25 miles. Even to fly down to Seattle to get the car and drive it back still would take 3 days to get back.

Setting my self up? No not at all I asked CAN THIS BE DONE. They tell me yes before we make the deal.

This guy unfortunately had a buying/shipping experience similar to the OP ("Nightmare from Victorville Mitsubishi"):
